The beautiful thing about Amy is that, you can tell, she didn't get into the industry for the fame or the money, she did it for the love. People say horrible things about her due to her addictions and why she died, but she was real. She had a soul. Yet when she was alive all people used to do was say awful things about her. It maddens me. We'll be lucky if we ever find another performer half as genuine and talented as she was. If we ever are lucky enough, let's make sure we treat them better next time. That is what is wrong with the world. Nobody has any empathy, until the person is dead. Some people (journalists etc) even will it to happen. It's all about the money this world. R.I.P Amy.

Jeylanne she did this to herself. it is embarassing we live in a world where we blame others for our faults and not take responsibility for our own actions. Amy knew that fame would kill her off and she still sought it anyway. The people around her didnt help but then she chose to surround herself with them and abandon those who cared for her from the very beginning. She saw her childhood friends less and less as her fame grew, choosing to rub shoulders with big time celebrities and music producers, but her childhood friends were at least good influence on her. However she didnt like what they had to say about her and chose to cut them off.

@mannymew16517 жыл бұрын
craig williams she killed herself with her behaviour. Stop blaming others, while a lot of people had a part to play in this, it was Amy Winehouse who made the decision to become a famous musician, it was Amy who resorted to taking drugs and alcohol. Her family and friends forced her into rehab and pulled her out of many concerts. Amy also wanted the fame and money that came with her career. Early on she said she didnt care about award ceremonies but did you see her face when she was awarded the grammy by tony bennet - she was estatic. She craved the attention but at the same time hated parts of it. They couldnt just lock up in a room and throw away the key. She had a stubborn personality and did what she wanted.
@mannymew16517 жыл бұрын
TELLEMENT2000 yes we live in a stupid celebrity worshipping culture. I do like some of her songs and I find her situation tragic but i am sick of her fans putting the blame on others. She was an extremely flawed person and very stubborn, with money and fame, a bad combination - try telling to do anything, it is not going to happen. Same with Michael Jackson, stubborn, powerful, famous, really talented but mentally very weak and deluded
@gauravw69474 жыл бұрын
@manny mew You are just spreading lies... She was ecstatic not because she won the award, because her idol Tony Bennett spoke her name and it is well documented... Neither she craved for attention, nor she wanted the fame... She just wanted to make music and sing for a small audience in a pub/lawn... She herself wanted to pull out of singing at concerts, but she was pushed by her family members and organisers to do so... This too has been documented when Amy goes to a holiday and her father tells her to do a concert which she didn't want to do... If she was stubborn, she wouldn't have listened to her father/organisers and agreed to do the concerts which she didn't enjoy doing...

I think some folks are just tired of being bamboozled, and told, over and over, that the industry represents "the best." Britain's Got Talent, America's Got Talent, The Voice, and basically most everything that has been pushed upon us the past twenty years has an interesting dynamic to the actual behind-the-scenes dealings that are never brought to light. You have to admit, after hearing this, from a financial stand-point, there are attributes that were considered above and beyond her vocal talents that were considered before singing off on a deal that would cost millions of dollars up front before any potential return-on-investment. EDIT: So sorry to your successors, as I now noticed that you passed away several years before my comment was made.

@@Delphia Hi Delphia! Did you mean that you didn't know that Amy had transcended, or maybe Camille who you were responding to? I have a question that I was going to ask Camille, but I'm asking you instead. I only know of Amy from her performance videos here at YT, and when she sang with Tony Bennett. I've loved Tony's music for years and when I first heard Amy singing with him she really struck me. I was wondering about the negative side of being a major artist and didn't think about the pressure you mention of stars signing huge contracts and to perform or else face disaster on that level. I was impressed with how artists who are known enough they can stand up to and on cue perform to a large crowd. I'm only amateur, but what I mean it's a repeated condition where the people have paid their hard earned money on a ticket, have showed up on time and many probably traveling great distances, and no matter what the artist has to be psyched for the performance, be in the expected euphoric mood, performing to perfection, can't be sick or late, perform whether in the expected mood or not, not be nervous... a whole gamut of expectations. I only know from playing at coffeehouse open mics. I never played in public (at least by guitar and vocals) until not long ago, only played at home alone. I always thought the applause and happy people was something that would quickly fade, be a short termed kind of positive experience. I only now know what it's like if a packed room of very happy listeners are very happy. It was strange as I realized for the first time there's a kind of energy I'd never known, what it's like to have a room full very happy people wasn't temporary at all, that their energy stayed with me, and that it even gave me more creative energy I also didn't expect to happen. I wonder if Amy's addictions interfered so much it skewed all of that, plus what you say are the pressures of contracts signed... but still I wonder too if under the drugs, she lost her sense of that energy I mentioned and crashed from that too. It seems like you are an artist and wondering what you think.

Many people are incapable of seeing beneath the surface, And on to them they live a very limited existents, Its almost like standing outdoors as the sunrise's, But to busy to feel the warmth in it's every stride, From those we receive the shallow words, They almost have to be forgiven because they don't even know the depths of there ignorance, But on to us we felt loved, We could see and feel the warmth in something as simple smile, An inflection in a voice that made each and every word special, Love is as quick as Hello and Goodbye, But the feelings in between aren't left by the wayside,, When I hear Amy's voice, I myself feel a Certain warmth inside... I once new an Angel very much like her, Fly on....... jd.

This brought me to tears. I'd never heard of Amy until she'd passed. Then I immersed myself in her beautiful sultry selections and will always be a fan.

Just saw her documentary and its so extremely sad and sickening that she went through so many struggles. There's no one person or thing to blame but what I don't understand is how her company couldn't see that she needed rest and longer periods of treatment before hitting the stage again. It's evident that she wanted to get better but didn't have healthy coping mechanisms.

Exactly. Also, they should of stopped her going on stage in some instances. Typical management, if she'd of cancelled, it would of been Bit of negative press and forgot about . But if she walked on stage high, drunk, wobbling, swearing & crying, and then forgetting her words, it would be loads of negative press continuing into the days, weeks and months, exactly what some management companies THRIVE ON....very sad. Such a sweet sweet girl, a lost soul just needing love, security, care, genuine attention, nurturing & support. Sadly not even some of her family had the nerve to carry this normal parental guidance out, just kept counting the pounds
