I was (and still am!) an absolutely massive fan of Amy. It was heartbreaking watching her ups and downs. It truly was bittersweet because we knew it wasn't gonna end well. Whenever she showed signs of turning things around, you would hope and pray it would last but deep inside you knew it wouldn't. Yet still when I saw that breaking news screen come up on Sky News that July, my heart dropped. I felt physically sick seeing the body bagged strapped to the stretcher being carried out of her house. It was so unfair she died when she did, We were both in our 20s, both British Jews with similar upbringings and passions, both had issues and mental health problems. I speak to her mother now and then through Twitter and I share links of rare live performances that she hasn't seen! She was a great help to me when I had a gofundme up and running, she trult appreciates Amys fans which is just so wholesome and endearing.

I used to work and patrol around Camden, and saw her more than once, just on the street. Tiny, often rough looking but always graceful... a very talented lady. So sad what happened to her...keep thinking it should have been different, if she had had different friends around her. RIP Amy, you are missed.

Amy wrote this song after her boyfriend Blake went back to his former girlfriend leaving Amy bereft. You are right about the video. In the original version it had writing on the small coffin saying Amy Winehouse heart but the producers thought it would be too upsetting for some so cut that bit out. Amy did go on to marry Blake much later but with tragic consequences after he introduced her to heroin.

Yes a unique voice and powerful song. Amy was so engaging and thought provoking, I'm so sorry we lost her. Your thoughts and comments make me wonder if you have heard anything from Angelina Jordan? She has a similarly unique voice and jazz influence, which she has already put to use in top quality covers of songs from many genres, although she is still only 17! There is a cover of Back to Black that Angelina recorded when she was just 10 years old, although you wouldn't believe it! Given her age she changed the lyrics (incredible in itself), but her live performance (and that of small orchestra accompanying) is very much worth seeing and hearing. Thank you :)
