@@bobbiward9506 choices create opportunities and opportunities can lead to destruction but unfortunately addiction isn't a choice. It's horrible how good substances make many people feel. I'm not an expert but I know heredity plays a role and deals all sorts of hands. When you are up and in the lead in a good game or glam it seems smart to stay up until you reevaluate where you stand. It is sad how so many things feel so good and can manage life so well... It does such a good job it completes you if you don't fight back. Often it wins when you do. Drugs are there for you any time and every time until the very end. Never far away or out of reach and alway able to take pain away and everything that goes with it. When I first heard of Amy Winehouse, it was the song Rehab, and I couldn't get enough of her after I found her music. This woman was extraordinarily talented up there with the greats like Etta James, Aretha, Whitney, Rosemary Clooney, Billie Holiday, Mama Cass Elliot and many others. One would say she was an old soul, and the way that she dressed in the doo wop era proved that not only was her voice was of that era so was her way of dress. I wished she had been around longer to bring us more of that gifted voice of hers. A True Talent, Gone Too Soon.

2021, can't believe how long it's been. I still listen frequently. Her voice was magical. She could and can bring me up and then again bring me down. The lifestyle was too much for her at such a young age. As any addict knows, we think their is nothing that's gonna take us down, and then we get a little older and start realizing that '' it's"got me. Whatever that it may be. The effects start getting stronger and you need more to feel better. Long story short, addiction sucks and will take down the people we thought were the strongest. I lost another friend yesterday. Let's be honest her voice is perfect her pitch and range will stand out from other female artists who are great vocalists. I'm a 48yr old male who loves music and voices. Amy is not gone she is just in a better place than her troubled life was. She had fun and that's important. Others may not agree, but all that heroin she jammed in her veins gave her a chance to see beyond the door of judgement day. She is a great singer and lyrical genius rehab took the opportunity to say you know what I don't want to go . I'm glad she said no . Death is inevitable so maybe she had fun getting to know the world my fucking life so but out . Enjoy my music but keep your opinion to yourself cause it means fuck all to others . Stick that needle in your vein sadly dying won't be any different to living so many things are not true about addicts so make sure you get the facts straight before you demonise something you don't understand 🎶💉

Darn rotten drugs and alcohol. :(

But without the drugs and alcohol, she would not have had the creativity. So it gives and it takes really

Anygodwilldo not true. it's proven that creativity does not increase with addiction or other mental illness but rather is made harder to harness.

Drugs and alcohol did not give her the talent to sing, nor did it teach her chords/notes and how to improvise. You do not need those things for talent, she suffered and eased her pain with drugs/alcohol, her songs reflect her feelings and what lead her to those substances since she was in pain.

The soul wants what the soul wants... Very few can help with those sorts of things... We all HAVE OUR OWN LIFE and we choose to live it how we want, and we dont live it for others...

Why get more help in her life??? She chose her life and she lived it more then all of us. Point is she lived her life fully and chose it... If only we can all do the same

Top notch interpretation of the Carol King classic. She did to this song what Janis Joplin did to Me and Bobby McGee. Completely stretched it to it's limits in the best way possible.

The feels. She cut this up into pure emotion. Unlike the perfect pop version that really didn't bring down true feel for the words. I hear them now. 1st time I heard Winehouse singing it. ❤

Normally I don’t comment but this lady’s beautiful voice is inspiring. It a sad loss to the music industry that this amazing talent is gone. May she R.I.P. beautiful angel.
