@@bobbiward9506 choices create opportunities and opportunities can lead to destruction but unfortunately addiction isn't a choice. It's horrible how good substances make many people feel. I'm not an expert but I know heredity plays a role and deals all sorts of hands. When you are up and in the lead in a good game or glam it seems smart to stay up until you reevaluate where you stand. It is sad how so many things feel so good and can manage life so well... It does such a good job it completes you if you don't fight back. Often it wins when you do. Drugs are there for you any time and every time until the very end. Never far away or out of reach and alway able to take pain away and everything that goes with it. When I first heard of Amy Winehouse, it was the song Rehab, and I couldn't get enough of her after I found her music. This woman was extraordinarily talented up there with the greats like Etta James, Aretha, Whitney, Rosemary Clooney, Billie Holiday, Mama Cass Elliot and many others. One would say she was an old soul, and the way that she dressed in the doo wop era proved that not only was her voice was of that era so was her way of dress. I wished she had been around longer to bring us more of that gifted voice of hers. A True Talent, Gone Too Soon.

2021, can't believe how long it's been. I still listen frequently. Her voice was magical. She could and can bring me up and then again bring me down. The lifestyle was too much for her at such a young age. As any addict knows, we think their is nothing that's gonna take us down, and then we get a little older and start realizing that '' it's"got me. Whatever that it may be. The effects start getting stronger and you need more to feel better. Long story short, addiction sucks and will take down the people we thought were the strongest. I lost another friend yesterday. Let's be honest her voice is perfect her pitch and range will stand out from other female artists who are great vocalists. I'm a 48yr old male who loves music and voices. Amy is not gone she is just in a better place than her troubled life was. She had fun and that's important. Others may not agree, but all that heroin she jammed in her veins gave her a chance to see beyond the door of judgement day. She is a great singer and lyrical genius rehab took the opportunity to say you know what I don't want to go . I'm glad she said no . Death is inevitable so maybe she had fun getting to know the world my fucking life so but out . Enjoy my music but keep your opinion to yourself cause it means fuck all to others . Stick that needle in your vein sadly dying won't be any different to living so many things are not true about addicts so make sure you get the facts straight before you demonise something you don't understand 🎶💉

James, if you like soul, highly recommended is the Bronx pop genius Laura Nyro. Check out her version of this song (the 3.25 minute version), and also another cover of a Goffin/King song 'Up On the Roof' (1970).

this song feels like dancing with the love of your life in a beach with the sunsetting and everything just feels magical as both of you drown into each other's presence and feel the comfort in silence as you held each other.
@michelleponsen75926 ай бұрын
The feels. She cut this up into pure emotion. Unlike the perfect pop version that really didn't bring down true feel for the words. I hear them now. 1st time I heard Winehouse singing it. ❤

It's all about our personal relationship with Jesus ... either we take Him and His sacrifice on the cross for our sins, as our personal savior, or we die forever. Sad when people refuse Him ...

@@Tonetwisters Morality and righteousness doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Christianity. I hope you're able to see that someday. ...And the idea that the creator of the universe would punish you forever for not believing a particular religion is just ...well.... fear based and silly. The original is fantastic, this is simply sensational. The pure raw emotion comes to the surface and you just know that she's singing with all her fragility and self.doubt at the surface Yes she had her faults, yes she got in with the wrong people and yes she suffered, but strip everything down to the surface and what you have is a young girl who just wanted to sing and find true love I count myself fortunate that I lived in a time where I got to hear such profound, unadulterated genius. Amy was a born singer, so natural. She didn't want fame, she didn't want fortune, she just wanted to sing with that gorgeous, soulful, beautiful voice I hope she's at peace with herself and in a better place and I hope that when I go I'm greeted with her singing this at the entrance
