I have 4 kids, 6years old and under. We don't have a rug under the table, either. But i just found the company called ruggable, washable rugs. Going to try it out with a smaller area in my daycare to see how well they work.

Good morning! Whenever my kids were little I didn't have a rug under the dining room table. I chose practicality over esthetics. Now my kids are grown and I have a rug under the table. If you're in a season of keeping it practical, embrace it. They don't stay little forever. Have a blessed weekend. - Arlene

I am so glad that you gave those words of encouragement to just be happy in your home and where you're at.. that was something I really needed to hear so thank you for saying that.. my husband and I currently live in a single wide trailer and have been looking for a house but nothing has opened up yet but we have both been reminded that we just need to be content and happy where we're at right now the land that we live on is absolutely beautiful and we love it.

I agree! So many times you hear people complaining that they “can’t find this piece” or “really need to find something for here” and they go out and panic buy something that they aren’t going to like in 6 months. If they would slow down and just enjoy the hunt… they would be happy. They really could live with what they have until they find “THE PIECE!” And there is nothing better than cleaning and decorating on a stormy, rainy day! Love that! We don’t get too many storms in So Cal so when they do happen…I enjoy it! Great video! Enjoy! 🥰 Karen

I have a 2 year old and 4 week old so I get the struggle; but it is therapeutic when I can get the house a little in order and it feels so much more peaceful. Thank you for being so real and such a positive influence! Your home is so peaceful and beautiful 💕

Hello I just wanted to say thank you! I had torn rotator cuff surgery a while back. It is a very painful surgery and it’s a long recovery. I spent most days sitting on the couch in an arm sling feeling sorry for myself because I couldn’t do much. I’m normally a very independent person and not being able to do much for myself was a very emotional thing for me. I clicked onto one of your videos one day and half way though your video I found myself straightening the coffee table in front of me. So I clicked onto another one of your videos and before I knew it I was cleaning my whole house. My mood greatly improved and everyday from then on got a little easier. I can’t say thank you enough. And to all of the ladies who take time out of their busy schedules to make these videos I am truly grateful! Keep up the great work! God bless!

Amy, your home is coming together so beautifully. You and your husband have done an amazing job with the renovation. You guys have managed to keep the character of the farmhouse intact, while also making it a modern home that your young family needs. My Mom always made me and my siblings cleanup our play area when we were done playing. And she never allowed us to make a mess in the main living areas. I'm grateful to her for that. My kitchen, living room, and main bathroom are always clean and tidy. I just function better that way😂. I think that your home look remarkable!

I am so happy to see your new video, Amy! We are closing on a new home in Virginia and are moving from Ohio this week. We owned our last home for over 27 years. It was built in 1800 and we remodeled the whole thing. It was part of the Underground Railroad. We raised our daughters there, so it has been hard to leave. We sold it In March and had to move to a condo as we looked for a home to purchase in virginia. It’s been a long and stressful ordeal, as my husband works for the air force. Anyway, I love what you said towards the end of your video. You are right, just embrace where you are right now. Things will end up okay and just enjoy the process of making a home. I dislike having to clean a rug under the table too. HOWEVER, you’re right it does anchor the room. Maybe something made from natural materials,(jute, bamboo, etc.). My fav thing to clean a kitchen sink with is the Lemon Verbena cream cleanser too. I just love that scent. Nice video. Everything looks so nice. Have a great week.

I love the video. I used to have rug under the dining table and took it out about a year. I should have done it sooner. What a relieve it has been not dealing with the cleaning and constantly telling everyone not to drop food on the rug.

I think the beautiful wood floors look perfect without a rug. I have had a rug under the dining room table in the past but in our new home I opted for no rug. It makes cleaning so much easier and the room is beautiful without a rug. I don’t miss it 🙂

We have bought a fixer upper and of course I want everything done at one time but it’s just me and my husband doing the work . For years I didn't have a rug under our table. Then I just couldn't handle not having one, so I decided to go outnin a limb and get a ruggable rug. My style is very similar to yours, and I went with the Kamran rug in coral. Oh my goodness, it's gorgeous and practical. I've had entire bowls of soft baby food dumped on it and it cleans up beautifully. It really ties the space together and is honestly easier to clean than the floor. I love how you're taking a beautiful old home and making it even more beautiful.

I always feel like I am cleaning with a friend. There is just a warm presence about you. I've always wanted a rug underneath my dinning table but choose pratical over aesthetics. My kids are much older and I am now thinking of purchasing an outdoor rug for easier clean.

Amy, I love your home. And it is so refreshing to see some dark wood instead of all the white. I love white on the walls, but I think white walls just pops dark furniture. LOVE your home, it's so lovely, most especially the kitchen...and, oh, that sink!!! That sink reminds me of my grandma's!! By the way, the Baking Soda Cream is GREAT to get grease off cabinets! Even with regularly wiping them down, there's still a build up that seems to occur and the baking soda cuts right through that and leaves cabinet fronts looking brand new!! I'm always shocked how much comes off my cabinets even though I rarely fry anything and you don't even see it, but it's there! Thanks for all the tips and sharing your beautiful home with us!!

The only rugs I have I place them only on the winter time in the living room where we seat and they are wash able. Very good rugs made out of cotton and you can wash them. This is life changing!

So nice to visit with you, Amy. I am currently doing a whole house declutter during my home renovation. As each room gets finished, I am decluttering before putting all of the furniture back. Big job with lots of donations happening 😊. It's so satisfying to get each room done. Remodeling is certainly a long process. I am not a fan of rugs in dining areas, too much work to keep clean, just lazy that way. Have a wonderful weekend.

It sure does feel like I’m with a friend when I watch your videos. I don’t have a rug under our table, I agree, it’s one more thing to clean. Your floors are gorgeous, I couldn’t cover them! My husband & I have been in our fixer upper for 3 1/2 years, we take it one project at a time, it’s better on the budget & we don’t feel overwhelmed. You’re right, enjoy the journey ☺️

We have a rug under the table now but not when our kids were little. When the grandkids come I put plastic under their chairs. 😊
