My favorite potato salad because there is no mayo! I also like the French version too.

It's really good and you can also eat it cold. I grew up eating this from my German Grandma.

Why don't you peel and slice the potatoes before boiling them? They cook quicker and you avoid them falling apart when slicing.

You can do that but it might take up more water and risk falling apart. If you use red potatoes, it might work better than these russets. I have overcooked them a few times and ended up switching to mashed potatoes lol

@@AmyLearnsToCook I like my potato to be firm and not soft like mush in potato salad so I don't cook them as long

I cut mine before I put it in the boiling water it's so much easier to do it that way and if I'm going to peel it I peel it when it's cold too

Hmm, my grandma always added sugar to her sauce, I'm thinking it was like a heaping TBL and her sauce was thicker I'm not sure if she used corn starch or what but it was like a glaze. My grandma used green onions instead of chives but I'm sure chives are really good.

Yeah, it probably isn't real German potato salad. A lot of things get twisted up here in the US. But...in my defense, it is delicious! Thanks for watching, Muslmaus!

Hi Mr. Alia! The method of using vinegar originated in southern Germany. It made its way to the US. It is delicious and a nice change from the traditional US mayo based potato salad. Thanks for watching!
