My mom would always grind her own wheat berries to create a nice whole wheat flour. She even won Blue Ribbons for her bread at the City of Watertown, New York fair in the early 1970s! Furthermore, it must have been healthy, she lived to age 100!! She never made jam though!

Homemade jam is so much better!

We agree! Thank you. I normally eat Smucker's strawberry jam, but it doesn't have nearly as much strawberry flavor as our homemade strawberry jam made with a fraction of the sugar.

I just got this bread maker for Christmas the same exact one so I’m glad I can see how it works before a busted open and start using it

Hi Amy and Eric!!! ALDI is a town away from me. My family does not go there. I dont like going anywhere by my self now a days. I did order from Insta-Cart from ALDI once just to try it out.Wonder if they put items from The Isle of Shame on it.??? Yep...I just ordered it. It will be here in a hour...Anyways your jam looked super yummy...How did you think of using the bread machine to do this??? Do all bread machines have a jam function on them??? Wishing I could try your recipe...Take Care my sweet friends. Great Video!!!...🦋

This recipe was a little tart as we used a bit more berries and a 1/2 cup less sugar than the raspberry recipe. You can watch our various bread machine jam recipes. They all are very tasty. Not all bread machines have a jam function. As Amy previously stated, she likes to make jam in her cheaper machines so we don't run the risk of messing up her favorite machines. You can get the low sugar pectin at your supermarket or Wal-Mart. Ditto with the frozen fruit for the various recipes. Please let us know how they turn out.

Looks delicious. How easy was the machine clean up?
@EricLearnstoCook3 ай бұрын
Thanks Mark. The insert has non-stick. We were able to get most of the jam out with hot soapy water with no scrubbing. The ring near the top came clean with minor scrubbing with a dish cloth.

Tip: cover your pan loosely with foil after locking it in to prevent/minimize spatter as it heats in the machine

Hi DiDi! Glad you enjoyed this. We "might" do an Aldi Chef Thanksgiving Edition. Thus Amy would use this bread machine to make the bread dough so we can bake some rolls.

In defense of beet sugar, non GMO organic beet sugar is available online. Probably not available at Aldi. I live in Nebraska and sugar beets are grown in western Nebraska. My mother bought GW (Great Western) sugar and I didn't know the difference. I buy organic sugar from Florida at Walmart.

They polluted the seed supply of sugar beets so bad. There isn't much left that is not GMO. Sugar cane is not GMO so I usually stick with it. The cake decorators I have talked to have told me that cane sugar also performs better in buttercream. Not sure if that is true or not. Maybe I need to test it and see lol! Thanks for watching, Jill!

I am starting to see the power of the refrigerator when it comes to flavor explosions. When we made this, right out of the bread machine it was good. Real good. But this recipe was a tad on the tart side when using a little less sugar than normal. We magically have not run out of this batch yet. It's almost gone, but I'll be nice and not kill it off tonight. Somehow over the last two days, the little bit of sugar has tamed the tartness a bit. So what was very good is now as good as it can be. Berries are still very much in the front not masked by sugar/corn syrup like in commercial jam, but the tartness is gone. I'm not sure how the berries got less tart, unless it's like all things in the fridge where the flavors co-mingle a bit. So if you ever make this and don't add enough sugar, just give it a day. It will be worth it.
