Very well said with wanting to exhaust all resources on your own first before asking for help. Definitely leads to some overthinking about whether what I do is "good enough" and/or feeling unconfident about asking for help at times for me. Very refreshing video :)

People often conflate being shy or quieter with being stuck up, so that kind of explains both of those assumptions!

I appreciate you and your content more and more every time you post. It’s so refreshing to see! You’re my age and it feels so good to hear somebody have a similar situation and opinions. I know it would be super rough, but maybe try considering doing vlogmas?? Or your own twist to it?

Love your answer about working hard while also being privileged! You answered that so eloquently. I feel so many of us (white people) think it’s an attack on us if someone says we have privilege.... but we can acknowledge that some things weren’t as difficult for us but we also worked really hard.

Hey Amy, I love your videos! You look so sweet, I was trying to get some information about how to find apartments and roommates in DC for my son who is been living there for the past 6 months. He does not need my help but I am that kind of Mom 😉, even though a lot of times my suggestions are not taking in consideration . Lol 😂 My son is 26 and a young profesional and lives now around Ashley Park but he wants to move to the Navy Yard area. What’s the group’s name on Facebook ? I would really appreciate your help.

One thing I kind of hate about living in DC is how there's kind of a superiority complex about being politically in the know. It's important to stay informed and recognize where you can learn more but I just think about how many people don't even know the difference between the House and Senate lol. It seems like you're doing great with it!

“Stuck up”?? .. Nah. Whoever said that about you was completely wrong. I’m the same as you when it comes to politics. I think this election was the one I really wanted to be informed on because we had so much to lose if the current resident of the White House had gotten 4 more years. It also made me become more aware of local and state elections and the candidates as well. I’m happy to have been part of turning Georgia blue.

I'm just saying this from my point of view, but the "white privilege" concept doesn't apply to everyone! I worked my ass off for what I have, as did my family! Anyone can achieve goals, and go far in life, if they put the effort in it! All races! It's the mentality of thinking you won't try, yet get upset when opportunity doesn't arise! I have friends from all walks of life, that have succeeded, it's what YOU put into it, that gets you there!
@amyrauch
@amyrauch 3 жыл бұрын
hi! having white privilege doesn't mean that you didn't work hard, im sure you have. white privilege means that society benefits white people over non-white, so while we both had to work really hard for our success other POC had to work twice as hard to get to the same end goal that we did simply because of their skin color. here's a really good (and quick) article that breaks it down, i highly recommend you read - www.ucf.edu/news/waking-up-to-whiteness-and-white-privilege/
