Amy, I buy a whipping cream stabilizer called Whip-it on Amazon, it will keep the whipping cream from getting runny and it has no flavor, it will keep your whipped cream nice and solid and you can keep your whipped cream in the fridge for a long time without it getting soft. We use it all the time in German baking that calls for whipping cream and I use it mostly for my German Black Forest Cake which is my families favorite cake. I love watching you and just wanted to share this tip with you, happy baking! 😊👍❤️

Adding vanilla may not be original as an ingredient, but I watched a well known channel of a Mexican lady who cooks authentic Mexican foods. She also said as you did, and added vanilla to the cake batter and the milks to saturate also. So, you’re correct on adding the vanilla as you did. I haven’t made this cake yet, but I intend to, thank you for the recipe.

I don’t know what you did to your picture,but it’s makes your kitchen so bright and pretty. Maybe you changed the lite bulbs. Anyway l love it. That is one of the best cake I have ever had fabulous. I love your downstairs kitchen reminds me of when I was a young child we had one momma cooked alot down there most times. Momma had 11 sister and they all had the basement kitchen at holidays we go to a few of the aunts and make cookies and cakes and home made pasta and gnocchi (we're Italian) sausage and peppers and onions.
