Yikes, getting enough sleep is definitely something I let slip. I let myself work until late at night and I wake up early and I really HEAVILY on coffee. Improving my sleep patterns is definitely something on my new years resolution and I'm making strides even now to improve it

Firstly, thank you for your videos. They are very helpful and inspirational. Secondly, I have always struggled to get sleep in my routine due to my brain has an ongoing to do list and I continue to just wear my mind and body thin until my body can not go anymore. That results in less hours to sleep which results in less productivity and motivation. My idea is: if I have an alarm to wake me up to start my day, why not set an alarm to tell my brain "hey you, it is time for bed" and train my mind and body that it is time to rest now. Worth a shot. I am determined to get back on track and the challenge is Step 1 for me in January. I even set up my Mac so I have my own desktop and files that I use regularly. During this pandemic for some reason I just haven't cared enough, so the desktop has been a blend of KZbin motorcycle and stereo install diatribes and Netflix movies and series. No focus at all. Tomorrow I will be waking up at 8 am and going to bed at 12:30. Yes, I love working at night, especially writing and designing.

What I’m going to do tomorrow- turn off my phone completely and use a separate alarm clock so that I don’t use it first thing in the morning. Then I will spend time in the Bible and do a quick workout before I get the day started and focus on school assignments for college

I don't look at any social media, (including youtube) until at least 8:30, which is an hour and a half after I get up, but I use a prayer app, Headspace for meditation, and look at my Fitbit app to see my sleep stats before that. One major thing I'm experimenting with in my morning routine is not working out. I used to work out right after breakfast and I wouldn't start my creative work until sometimes 1:00 in the afternoon. This week I've just been going for a short walk around my neighborhood in the mornings and doing my serious workouts in the afternoon so I can use the time from around 9:30 to 12:00, when my mind is at it's best, for that creative work I was talking about.

I asked for the planner for Christmas and love it so far! The first thing I did was reverse engineer my bedtime and it’s already helped so much (day 2)!!! Omg I just ordered the bundle! I bought myself GMGL back in April but life happens the book is no longer in great shape. I wanted the planner since you announced the original one but couldn't justify the purchase to myself. My professional life has seen great changes since discovering you in 2018 but I've been stunted lately. I hope getting back in the right mindset and finding the motivation with the planner ( and finishing the book) will help me again.

I love your content, it is very motivational. This is my morning routine: I go to work at 5am, I get up at 3am and it only gives me time to: make bed, shower, have breakfast, get dressed and go to work (go to drive)4:10 am. I have tried to add to the morning routine: some movement or reading or journaling but I feel like I don't have time. What do you recommend??? I do not have much time in the morning. Waiting for your book to arrive I bought it from amazon, crazy for reading it ;) your planner is an excellent tool, I will buy it too. Love your positive vibe!!!

Dang girl you already gotta get up early. The only way to wake up earlier is to go to bed earlier. Are you getting enough sleep? That might be your top priority. You're already doing a great job of giving yourself 2 hours or so of your own time. Sounds like mindfulness is in there at least.

I think what I’m going to start doing while I have the freedom to get up/go to sleep when I want, I’m going to set a 9 hr timer when I go to bed just to get in the habit of getting enough sleep.

I would love to go to bed and sleep without my phone but I have chronic pain and the only way I can get to sleep is to watch Netflix while I'm falling asleep. It distracts me enough to keep my mind occupied so I can fall asleep. Sometimes it's enough just to have it playing while I close my eyes. Often I play something that I've watched before or I play thunderstorms and can sleep that way.

Do you have any tips on actually waking up? I find especially in the winter months I cannot wake up. I have 4 google home alarms, my phone sits across the room with alarms and I’ll sleep through them or yell “stop alarm” in my sleep. Once I’m actually awake I am beyond productive but I’m in a slump of “wow I don’t remember hearing any of my alarms”.

One thing I've done to make a difference is to DO more quick tasks than listing them... In the "Getting Things Method" he proposes DO tasks that are less than 2 minutes and schedule the rest. Well NOTHING was getting done at my house and the list was getting longer and longer. So I've increased from two minutes to five minutes and so much more is getting done. GTD has a point... It takes two minutes to find the book, find the page, find the pen and write it down... And that works great if you are in the middle of something, otherwise, I've found that it takes another couple of minutes to get the book open, find the page and adjust my mind to do that quick task... So instead, I have the five minute rule, formally known as the two minute rule and progress is noticeable! ❤🌅🌵😷

Is it just me or when I watch not really these videos but "it girl" videos it gives an unrealistic and unnecessary expectation of how I should look, eat, have my house, what productive looks like, need to have things aesthetically pleasing , etc etc etc ? Don't get me wrong I watch Amy sometimes just to get motivated to think clearly.... Interested to see if anyone else feels some things are far - fetched for them . I commend Amy for making her life the way it is and working for it consistently
