I've been wanting to do this too, and using downtime helps a LOT! Something you must watch for as you are paying down your credit card debt is the credit limit on the card. Some credit card companies will reduce your credit limit as you are paying off your credit card debt. They do this so that they can continue to charge you the highest interest rate on your debt. This is not as big a problem as it may seem. Should you find that your credit card company is doing this; put that company on your DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BLACK LIST! It is in your best interest to not do business with companies that prove to be unethical in their business dealings. When you find that the CC company is lowering your debt limit, look for a card you can transfer the debt too and pay off that card, and never do business with that CC company again. Back in 2004 when I eventually ended up filing bankruptcy due to the lack of a job; I decided to crunch the numbers and see if I could have done something different and more efficient in regards to paying off my credit card debt. Edited: I realized that I missed a couple of steps so I numbered them for better clarity. After crunching the numbers and playing with different payment scenarios; I designed the following snowball debt payment system. 1) Stop using your credit cards. 2) All your current monthly payments, become your permanent monthly payment. 3) If you have multiple credit cards; always pay down and off the smaller credit card debt first. 4) When you have the card payed off; transfer all of that payment to the next smallest card debt. 5) When the second card is payed off, transfer the entire payment to the next smaller card debt and so on. By focusing on the smaller card debts and then transferring the entire payment to the next smaller card debt, you will pay off your debt much sooner than you would if you focused on paying off the higher interest card first.

This was so helpful, I am Not a planner type of person or a planner for goals . Always been the go with flow type of person! but it’s been a year since I have had a Huge Reality Check of my life & where it was not going . But the planner thing was still overwhelming I didn’t know where to start or how to keep it simple & learn how to track my progress.. till I saw your video!! 👍🏽 ..many thanks !! How can you set SMART goals about relationships or spiritual life or mindset?
@beckifahle93464 жыл бұрын
Suppose you want to improve your relationship with your children. Your smart goal (make it math) might be "I will spend three nights a week reading a story to my son, at least two of which are weeknights." So, if you spend a lot of time at the office, your "career goal" might be, "I will *always* leave work by 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, no matter what." Your financial goal might be, "I will make a budget that will allow me to buy one new children's book per month." or if you are hourly: "I will make a budget that will allow me to miss four hours of work each week on Tuesday and Thursday nights." Mindset: "I will spend ten minutes breathing on Tuesday and Thursday nights before reading so that the reading will always be a good experience for us and not rushed." If you have adult children: "I will schedule a zoom call every second and fourth Saturday for 30 minutes at 1030 am (or whatever's good for them)." Actionable. figure out how to make each thing about math. Measurable means someone else needs to be able to look at your ACTIONS, and tell that you are doing what you said you would do. I can't count if you are spiritual, but I can count how many times you read a bible verse, or spent two hours at a soup kitchen, or worked on your Sabbath. I don't know if you have a good relationship with your kids, but I can tell how many times you made the effort to read to them or made a phone call or took them camping or mailed an actual card. By doing the *actions,* your further your goal of improving your relationship with your kids. By *scheduling* the actions (Tuesday and Thursday nights), you know when you are doing it. At the end of the week, you can look back, and say definitively, "I did [or did not do] these actions that I believe will improve my relationship with my kids. I did it this many times, on these days, for "x" minutes or hours. These things got in the way. These things went well. This is how I will improve next week/month."

Hi Amy, For reducing debt (i.e. credit cards) I used to put all my bills in a spread sheet. This gave me a total that I could check against the balance in my account. I would pay a certain amount which was decided based on the amount of my other fixed bills (mortgage, insurance, utilities, etc.). Then, if I had extra funds during the next paycheck (assuming there are 2 paychecks per month), I would write another check for that credit card and file it with my bills. Then, when the next statement arrived, I would add that check to the amount based on the paycheck's funds for the regular payment. This is confusing I know, but it worked. Also, I add any charitable fixed amounts to my list of bills and would consider doing the same for a credit card payment. If I were paying off a mortgage, I would add a small amount to my payment, putting it against the principle. My husband did this and we were able to pay off our house much sooner. Also, if your mortgage company sends you a monthly statement which tracks your payment and balance owed, this is a BIG help. As for my #1 goal this year, I do want to make exercise a habit and lose about 100 pounds this year.

hi! I'm new to her channel too and I've also been wondering that and I'm pretty sure the legacy category is about setting a goal(s) that will create a positive impact for others hence her goal of "donating $25 to a favorite charity every month" also hence the category being called legacy bc you're leaving you mark/creating a legacy.
