When I first started playing there were no ranks. Then took a break and came back as a mid-level crusader and worked my way up to archcon .. Past crusader the games got relatively easy And predictable. Basically, if you had a good Lane you were going to win the game. Then the first recalibration came up since I came back to the game And I made the mistake of trying to calibrate quickly and ran into mainly peruvians back then in that era That are mechanically talented at the game but they want a sol o rampage without ever ending it then throw the game so I lost most of my calibration matches. I've been up and down for years now. As a support main at higher levels you can play super sacrificial and you're rewarded by your carry is carrying you But at guardian and Herald It took me too long to learn that you have to kind of carry no matter what position you play and you cannot trust your team. Also there's no communication and if you have a plan or tell someone anything they will yell at you. Start doing the opposite to throw the game on purpose and report you. They rather lose the way they want to than win someone 's else way The biggest thing I see is they never push when the enemy team is down so each game has to be an hour

I was in Herald 3 and now I'm in Crusader. Both ranks even guardian play bad. Had a huskar hard support in crusader. Truly Elo hell

You just have to play better than anyone in the game, because the opponents will have grief picks on their team as well every now and then. You have to prove you can climb by overcoming griefing teammates.

Honestly dota 2 is a quantity type of progression, i got placed on archon after 2 years not playing and i used to be ancient, i have around 60% winrate but takes forever to climb with so many bad core pickers or griefers

so many games of pos 4 sniper or offlane lifestealer or ck, or some mid that a guy watched on youtube for 1 minute and thinks he knows what hes doing xd

If you wanna rank up - pay DOTA+. In other case ultra slow progression because rigged matchmaking is not really worth your time. 50% win - 50% lose rate +- 1-3 games to give you illusion of gaining MMR. Constant Win - Lose streaks xD Than better you play than worse team you get on lose streak :) Coinsidence? Not really.
