So fun fact: Desann and Tavion each use their own unique lightsaber styles, Desann uses a one-handed variant of the Strong "Red" style and Tavion uses a one-handed variant of the fast "blue" style. Also, in the last level, you can use the force to put out the flames temporarily, and if you deploy the seeker drone in front of the mirror, it will atack where Desann is supposed to be instead of his reflection.

There's also technically another lightsaber form, but its only in the GameCube version as far as I'm aware. It's more of a glitch, but if you use a cheat to start the game with the lightsaber, when beat certain levels while wielding it, the next level will load with him holding a different weapon with the blade of the lightsaber coming out of the weapons tip horizontally. The Kyle's movements are the same as if he's swinging it normally, but the blade is in a completely different direction. That port has a TON of glitches that are really cool!

Other old games too, Thief trilogy, Splinter Cell series, The first Deus Ex, Commandos 1 & 2, Starcraft 1 and 2, Warcraft 3 and more. Older games feel solid with tons of replay value. To clarify, i started pc gaming in my early 30's, yes i am 60 years old. And before anyone gives me shit about my age, my father in law is 90+ and he's playing pc games, single player and even WoW. Gaming is for every age. I consider myself lucky to have started when i did, because kids that grew up with consoles and pc's, don't appreciate the good, old stuff. Soooo, for anyone who tries the game and doesn't know this: Change your lightsaber stances depending on situation. Light stance (Blue) has fast speed and low damage, but is the best one for deflecting blaster bolts. Great stance for stormtroopers and criminals. Medium stance (yellow) is the all rounder, good for every situation, but not great in any one of them. Decent speed, decent damage. Blaster bolts will be able to hit you some times, specially against multiple shooters or against weapons with fast rate of fire. Heavy stance (red) is pretty slow but has the most damage. Good luck deflecting blasters with this one, but you can sometimes end lightsaber duels in one or two hits.

Grew up playing these games. Also a huge fan of Luke in TLJ. I like my characters beaten down and learning from their failures. Well, I guess I just like Luke being a character - he doesn’t really come across as one in this game. The clip you used of Luke attacking Ben Solo is from Ben’s distorted memory of the event btw.
@BBQBARNES-GAMING3 ай бұрын
I like characters going through a beat down arc however that should been the focus of Rey or Fin. Luke already went through one of the greatest beat down arcs made and had learned his lesson about letting emotions cloud his judgment. It also didn't help it was in a flashback instead of a developed arc that might could work but only if we had more context shown not told. Legends had dozens of stories that with simple changes could have ben great movies especially if they avoided doing a trilogy and instead have focused on unique stories outside the main plots like Rouge one or Solo
@tristanmoore96533 ай бұрын
@@BBQBARNES-GAMING I feel like Rey’s arc of learning to stand on her own two feet, accepting her responsibility, and not allowing others to define her works pretty well, as does Finn’s arc of committing to a just cause. I just think the easy way to bring back Luke is have him be a wise master whose only struggles are external, when tying his fallibility into the creation of the trilogy’s main antagonist makes for a genuinely interesting dynamic. Luke’s imperfections made him relatable to me growing up; I’m glad he didn’t stop growing after RotJ. And his feat of sacrifice and heroism at the end of TLJ remains one of my fav Luke moments just for the sheer virtuosity of his use of the Force and the way he accepts his humanity while embracing his status as this mythic legend. To me, it made the two parts of Luke - the Man and the Myth - finally coexist peacefully in a way none of the Legends stories ever did.

58:17 I think the point here was exactly that: Raven knew that everyone will be too eager to use only the lightsaber so they put the player in a situation where using it is a disadvantage. They teach the player that you shouldn't rely too much on the saber and you should still use your other weapons. Be more tactical and not just hack and slash while running around. It also makes a really good point about how simple bounty hunters are able to kill Jedi which was maybe the first time that it was shown. I mean, it was said that people like Jango Fett have killed Jedi but we've never really seen it. Second comment: I love this game and the character development Kyle goes through in it. But does Jan turning out to be alive sort of diminish the lesson learned/Kyle's development? Kyle is afraid to use the Force for fear of falling to the dark side and is even warned by Luke not to use the Force if he can't let go of his anger. He hold Tavion (defeated and defenseless) in a Force grip about to drop her into the Bespin pit band only releases her once she tells him that Jan is alive. Had Jan been dead, Kyle would've killed a defeated opponent and moved closer to the dark side. So does he really learn control and overcome and master himself or no since had it not been for things working out in his favor, he'd be on a path of vengeance and destruction and lose himself after all?
@BBQBARNES-GAMING6 ай бұрын
Oh had Jan not lived he would have ended Tavion for sure however i wouldn't say it diminishes the lesson but instead changes it. It becomes more about the power of hope and how even a spark of it can rekindle the coldest of hearts. This was before the whole Jedi are supposed to shun attachments stuff that the prequels created so instead it shows how important having attachments can be.

The best SW game series. Damn I hate Disney taking Kyle and this Luke away from us.
@BBQBARNES-GAMING3 ай бұрын
The sequel trilogy could have easily focused on Kyle and Jan and would have worked well by just changing a few plot points and including the books. what a waste the sequel trilogies were. Just awful and lazy

I would argue that outcast has superior lightsaber gameplay to academy. in academy they ruined the balance of it by adding speedy unblockable katas and combos.
@BBQBARNES-GAMING6 ай бұрын
Not to mention you become so powerful that even on Master Difficulty you can walkthrough most the dark Jedi while in Outcast every fight seemed risky making it more fun
@nybergsgarage6 ай бұрын
@@BBQBARNES-GAMING that's true too. I beat outcast on the hardest difficulty on PC though, then tried it on switch. those darn thumbsticks made it so much harder that I barely won on the easiest skill setting.

Yes this is the luke skywalker we wanted He literally refused to kill darth vader and vader was literally a mass murderer at that point and you want me to believe that he tried to kill his nephew because of a dream Nah f**k you disney. Luke from jedi knight series is canon for me

Game structure was flawed lol. Too many levels without saber that have wonky mechanics like bad gun aiming and erratic enemy behavior and when you finally get saber...you can't use it lol Great game though
@BBQBARNES-GAMING4 ай бұрын
The first level wasn't bad but the Mines go on for way too long. I like the idea of making you wait but it needs to be shaved down a bit

Copyright strikes in no way effect your channel negatively. I used a bunch of John Williams music in my lightsaber unboxing video. It just means you can't monetize the video. If you're trying to make a couple bucks I guess I get it but taking the Star Wars music out of a star wars game is just lame.
@BBQBARNES-GAMING5 ай бұрын
I get that but That's why i replace it with KOTOR music. KOTOR has great starwars music and not copyrighted in the same way at least. The channel makes almost no money which is fine this is a fun hobby either way however, what little i can get goes to Christmas gift for the kids so like to try and keep monetization where possible
