On my first playthrough I actually got the dark side ending unintentionally. I didn't really understand English back then and I was so confused because I played Jedi Outcast first and I knew Jedi Knight is a prequel to it. I was devastated when Kyle killed Jan. I knew I did something wrong but I had no idea what. But at the end where he was sitting on his throne and pulled out the holorecording of his father I was like: I knew it! There's still good in him! And then he crushed the projector with his foot and I lost all hope. :D

44:58 I thought Yun's acting was okay. The character himself felt way more important than he actually was, he was the weakest of all the dark Jedi. He was just acting all tough and evil to overcompensate for his insecurities. Like when the biggest bully in school turns out to be the most vulnerable and traumatised person.

Idk if anyone commented this, but the E-11uses TWO ammo in each shot, that's why in the beginning of the game you run out of ammo quickly (when you don't have other options). To counter it, that's what the Pistol is for (one shot, one piece of ammo), besides the fact that it is more accurate, so it's good for "sniping".

He's also Sariss' dad, and the one who first set Jerec on the path to finding the Valley of the Jedi. Oh, and these experiments, Sarris' birth and raising, and Jerec's meeting with Cronal all happened at different times, but at the same place; the dark force temple on Dromund Kaas from Mysteries of the Sith.

In addition to the massive and wide open levels Falling ship was an amazing thing for it's time. They made a ship level then tilted it 45 degrees and hot damn we have level 15 Falling Ship. The 90's were a great time for gaming. So much innovation as technology moved on from the dos era. (You missed Max on Fuel Station omg)

What I love about this game is it's clearly based on the original trilory as that was the only reference they had back in 1997. Jedi Knight 2 was different as it's was based on the prequel movies (around the time of Episode 2). The combat and pace between the two games is very different.

28:44 My best guess is that's a (very) large lead acid electrical system. It would explain the electrical current, it would be useful on a giant space farm, and lore states that power sources were in need on Sulon before the installation of the G-Tap geothermal system. As to why it's _open to the sky_ and doesn't have a catwalk or something going over it... Maybe it was damaged by the Grave Tuskens or the Imps when they ransacked the place.

Correction to your purple lightsaber comment: this game came out in 1995, the book where jaina made her purple lightsaber came out a year later in 1996! However, thinking back to other jedi with purple lightsabers, i think the first one described was in the book Dark Apprentice in 1994, where the spirit of Exar Kun instructs Luke's student Gantoris how to build a lightsaber to kill Luke, in that particular book the blade of that lightsaber is described as purple with a rainbow shimmer along the edges but the rainbow aspect is dropped later, just being described as purple. Other than that, maybe Kam Solusar's lightsaber is either purple or green but the lightsaber colors in Dark Empire comics were super inconsistent.

I completed this game at the time. I love Star Wars (RIP 1977-2012), but objectively Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II is just a bad game, the level design alone is a total disaster. The stories of DOOM or QUAKE II are not archaic dude, it's just a completely different kind of narration. Next video will be about beating the cuphead tutorial, and how hard it is. Don't try mots that's for sure. Sarcasm aside, this is one of the greats. Bad take is bad take, don't have to like it being called out. That's the point, realizing a mistake isn't fun, but you can learn from it. Could have done better research from the start, and this was the result, doubling down on it though looks worse. Generally speaking, not addressing the issue at all will just showcase this isn't a channel to follow for good takes.

Man that Cuphead comment was a low blow! HAHAHA In all seriousness I guess I didn't articulate my point well enough in the video but 1. When it comes to its difficulty i didn't mean it as a bad thing that it was reasonably hard especially on a first playthrough. in fact i do find that kind of refreshing compared to how much new games baby you. I would say that my brief attempt on hard mode was way harder than something more modern like Halo 2 Legendary or any game i regularly play so felt it might be worth mentioning. 2. My comment about the force isn't that it bothered me. I put a lot of points into speed and jump (more than i should have) so getting around was easy. Simply that if you are an idiot and don't invest the points wisely it can be easy to feel stuck at some parts though they always do have some way around regardless (like the top of the palace level) Also i did upgrade it as he game went and towards the end I though i implied that most the troubles I had where simply do to my poor optimization of those powers but I guess i could have explained that better early on too. PS. I actually just did a Mysteries of the Sith video and besides those damn Vornskrs and that Swamp level i found it much easier than DF 2 though spoiler I wasn't as much of a fan of the fractured storyline and the vent hunting that some of the levels had. The Rancor fight was a blast and that twist at the end fight is freaking crazy! Awesome first playthrough experience there

@JohnDoe-ip3oq10 ай бұрын
@@danielhathaway8817 Not really, there's an epidemic of people who hate old games and make videos trashing classics. The bad takes used to be ignorable, but today are being mass produced and pissing off fans. Df2 was one of the best games in the series, and this review didn't give it a serious shot, which is obvious to the people who played it. I doubt it will get revised, and frankly had no business being reviewed without proper respect and research. If you can't be bothered to play it right, it shouldn't have been reviewed, but it's also likely that it was poorly reviewed on purpose, which could be why there are glaring holes in it. Maybe it's legit, but it suffers from the warning signs of bad faith. Old games are old, but that also means they have history and you should do research before rushing out a bad take. Highly likely there's an explanation to any issue that's been known for years. There's also graphics mods for the game. Why wasn't any effort put into running it with a mod? That right there is a red flag. Very sus, low effort+bad take.

I love modern graphics but I never would have called DFIIJK ugly! Are you insane?!? Nar Shaddaa is best in THIS game!!!! Perhaps if you looked further than in front of your nose Nar Shaddaa wouldn't be "bland looking". Enemies do not appear out of nowhere. You have failed to notice where they appear from! If you play the game properly, you will never have ammo problems even on hard. The twi'lek has bodily birth defect. It is pretty obvious. Tuskens: The lore didn't change. You literally explained the extra lore that doesn't change the base lore. So why say the lore changed? Only Yun's fast dueling powers are lightside. His FMV powers are darkside, a non-expanded weaker and slower Drain/Destruction, and a neutral, Levitation. You clearly have no idea what hitscan means. The red rooms beyond the elevators on level 12 do hurt you, just slowly. "How is this large an operation already down here?" Well considering probably multiple expedition ships not seen, an Empire could probably lay down entire bases. As they do in strategy games. Otherwise there were supposed to be more levels before Ruusan but were not made. It is NOT KRAYT dragon. It's KRELL dragon! You can't have offensive powers when doing a good playthrough! Ah nevermind. At least you liked the game.

1. I find early 3d graphics kinda ugly and Bland. Late 90s were pretty good Like Unreal and Half Life but around this time it just seems blotchy. It was a necessary growing pain to get us where we are now though. 2. Nar shadaa feels boing everytime I'm there in any game Jedi Outcast version is probably the worse gameplay wise though 3. Some enemy's spawn appropriately but sections of Nar Shadaa i literally saw them spawn in in areas i already cleared. Some spawns like dropping down through the vents could be funny at times 4. Yeah id believe that. Its been a wile since I've played through some old shooters so i was definitely not on my A game 5. yeah i get hes messed up was just a off handed comment about him being a lunatic 6. I met Disney has changed their Lore now so old lore has now been changed. 7. ahh well thats cool 8. The concussion rifle is a hitscan in DF 1 but your right DF 2 its a fast moving bolt instead which is better. I should have re recorded that part. 9. Really thats interesting didnt even relize that, Still a strange idea for the level though 10. Still seems pretty quick to build all that down there 11. didn't realize i said Krayt but damn looks like i did lol thanks for the correction 12. I later played a dark side playthrough and the Dark powers were pretty fun. And yeah it actually really surprised me. At first i thought it was so so but as the game went on i was loving it! So much fun

11. Somethimes spelled as KRELL sometimes KELL. Interestingly enough, there is an old story that goes something like this copypasted from wookieepedia: Kell dragons were created as enemies for the 1995 PC game Star Wars: Dark Forces. PC Gamer magazine stated that these dragons were intended to be krayt dragons, which would have marked the krayt's first appearance. But since krayt dragons were officially stated to be much larger, for canon and gameplay reasons the Dark Forces creatures were renamed "kell" and deemed related to krayts. Some kinds of krayts were quite similar to kell dragons. Krayt dragons were intended to appear first in Star Wars: Dark Forces but they were renamed kell dragons and became a different (but related) species altogether. But really when Ralph McQuarrie first drew SW stuff, there was some dragon that was meant to be one but ended up as the other, don't quite remember the full story.
