I've got this lens and I absolutely love it. Surprised there isn't many videos of people speaking about it.

I love the rendering of this lens & have been using it for almost 2 yrs on the sony a7r4. Also used it for detailed architecture and its very sharp. I too really like the 45mm fl. Its really a gem of a lens

It has a fair amount of that vintage style rendering magic while still keeping with modern sharpness/contrast sensibilities.

Very good presentation that was focused on real world use of the lens with samples to backup the statements. It was refreshing to watch this review that is way more useful than some of the reviews of known KZbin reviewers. No unrealistic expectations that Samyang 45mm f1.8 to be excellent on all levels (build, optics/IQ, price) and no useless comparisons with lenses that weight twice as much and cost 3 times more. I cannot agree more with the conclusion of your review; I would have said maybe a bit more on CA aspects, though the conclusion stays. This lens punches well above its weight. Why I liked the presentation so much: logical manner, perfect pace, style.

Hi. What is your advice for a Sony A7s III on a gimbal when I use a 24-70 lens?
@ThisVSThat3 жыл бұрын
this looks great! Recently got a 24mm Rokinon

Are you happy with that lens? Want to buy it for my concert photography :)
@ramspencer54923 жыл бұрын
@@germauxvisuals I've heard that 24mm Samyang/Rokinon is very similar in execution and even a slightly more refined, being their most recent compact full frame FE lens. I've also been hearing really good things about their 35mm, 1.8.

Can I know your video settings for this video? Did you use slog and color graded yourself? The atmosphere here looks so good like the dreamed scene I want to shoot in future. Really appreciate your answer and thanks for the video btw will getting this lens next time!
@tavakessler Жыл бұрын
Yes! I always shoot in slog and grade the footage

Can't decide between this and sony 40mm 2.5 G. Which one is better for traveling light?
@tavakessler11 ай бұрын
Haven’t used the Sony 40mm, but it’s probably a bit better quality glass.
@rakesh1191112 күн бұрын
Would the low light performance between the two be significantly different

Would you recommend this as a travel lens?
@tavakessler Жыл бұрын
It is pretty light & small, but I’d probably go for a zoom lens like the Tamron 20-40 for travel! A little more versatile for travel

Thank you so much! Appreciate it. Couldn’t decide with the vast range out there!

How does the focus ring work? Does it overrides AF at all time?
@tavakessler3 жыл бұрын
No, it doesn’t override. The camera needs to be in manual focus mode for it to work.

Nice video! Have you tried the low light auto focus and/or active stab for the video with this lens ?
@tavakessler2 жыл бұрын
Stabilization works well, but autofocus in the dark definitely searches more than a Sony lens would
