Don't know if budget lenses exist really. I am interested in the 45mm Samyang but don't consider it a "budget lens". Where I live, it costs 400E and the minimum monthly wage is around 650E.

@@anbar5675 I am is the same wage country! Try to use some vintage lens! some of the they can costs you lower than 50€ with the adaptor but you have to use them manual in focus. I have the helios 58 F2 get it from free from a friend, The Canon FD 50mm 1.4 & 100-300 F5.6 on 60 & 50€ each. The Samyang 85 1.4 Amount used for 150€. So they are budget solutions. I have only one Sony Lens 24-105 F4. I get them new at December with a "lets say" reasonable price cost me 650€ without VAT. It was in an SONY offer from 1350 to 950€. Hope I help you!

I have this lens & shoot portraits .. its like magic..the rendering is unique like a lot of other Samyang lenses . highly recommend it & its wipes the floor with the Sony 50mm F1.8

I have had the lens for a few months & its a lens which has a special rendering & an excellent optics. I have been using it on the a7r4 and getting a lot of detail. Personally I prefer the 45mm fl to both the 35 & 50 and though not exorbitantly priced it has excellent optics

How do u find AF and IQ to be compared to let's say the 24-70 GM or Tamron or the 35 1.8/55 1.8? Everyone states that sharpness/IQ is good "for the money", but when I see comparison images to the aforementioned lenses, I don't notice a significant difference. It seems like even if the lens was priced at $700, it would still contend with the other options. Thoughts?

I really like this lens, it’s got a fun character to it, sooo compact for a gimbal. Great for just throwing on your camera and taking street photography. I’m a full time videographer but find myself enjoying using super portable lenses I don’t stress about breaking haha

Haha. I have just recently moved from Nikon to Sony, and was looking at the Samyang 50mm 1.4, but love your "stay away from it, it's horrible!" Thanks for doing your reviews on Sony ecosystem lenses. Helpful for those of us new to Sony.

It is so sad that Samyang is not updating the lens, not a firmware but a real V2 of it. I believe if they do it will be a best seller lens

Hi, your videos are super helpful. I would be very interrested in a comparison of Sigma 30/1.4 on a 24MP sensor vs a Samyang 45/1.8 on a FF 24MP sensor. I think that it really would make sense.

Hi Stefan, many tx very good job. I have just a question, does the inbody correction of the A7III resolve the distortion ? I shoot jpeg and i don't want to tweak all my pics with LR because of it.

I had to buy this lens since the sony 50mm was awful slow on my A7ii and the zeiss was too expensive for me. This tiny thing is awesome sharp with decent focus speed and so lightweight, looks like a toy but performs great!

@@mazinoid6856 Well, it perfomrs great on my a7ii, i sometimes use it on my a6300 for a walking around lens because of it´s size. What i don´t like about it, is that it feels fragile and cheap, my a7ii looks toyish when the lens is attached. Another CON is the quality control, mine came with a speck of dust inside. i can´t return it since i´m in Perú and i bought it fron asia through ebay :(

I have 2 lens. Fe 28mm f2 and FE 85mm f1.8. Is worth to sell my FE 85mm to buy samyang 45mm. Because i think 85mm is to zoom. But i still need portrait lens. Spesificly i need all around lens for wedding documentation and video. Is 45mm will be best portrait lens for me?

85 is one of my favorite portrait lenses. A 45 or 50 will do the job as well. Depends on your shooting style. A lot of shooters will use a 35 and 85 for weddings. Tough call bud.

Hi.. really good comparison videos u make... I had question... I own a7iii with 24-70 kit lens and sony 85 1.8.. Since 85 too tight bridal portrait during wedding... I was looking prime range 50mm. Do u recommend 45 1.8 and later point time wider samyang 18 2.8 to complete range.. Or Buy samyang 35 1.4 or Sony 35 1.8 instead?

Tough to say. Lots of people like 35 and 85 combo for weddings. I personally love my 85 and 45/50 is a great in between.

Buy the dock if you're going to invest in Rokinon / Samyang. Non negotiable.

I have this lens with old firmware and the autofocus is absolutely terrible, but I've heard that the latest firmware fixes that. Haven't purchased the dock yet though so I can't confirm.
