It appears that deactivating IPv6 is crucial to be able to connect a client machine to the server. I had already configured the DNS IP in my client PC correctly, but it was still giving me the error, unchecking the mark in the IPv6 option is what did the trick. Thank you!

This was the only suggestion that helped me, today. It was a major headache, experienced after my organization, restructure. It seemed the workstations were using IP 6 addresses. I don't even use IP6. Go figure.
