Thanks so much for this! I was just cast as Phoebe in our local production of this play and this was one of the few Shakespeare plays I actually didn't have a lot of knowledge of. This was super helpful in approaching learning this!

Hurray! I’m sorry I forgot to tell you it was ready. I will try to do the other one too, but it kind of needs the whole scene explained. So I’m just trying to figure out how to do it without the video being an hour long 😂

thank so much! I’d love to see your take on Cressida’s hard to seem won monologue?
@ShakespearewithSarah
@ShakespearewithSarah 3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I can definitely look at that one. I’ve had a few Troilus and Cressida requests. It might take a few weeks though because I’ve had so many requests lately! I’ll let you know when it’s up.

hi Sara! I love your videos and they are so helpful! I am preparing for drama school auditions and am very interested in the character Queen Margaret. Would you be able to make a "how to perform" video about her? thank you very much and stay safe!

For sure! It will take a few weeks though because I’m getting lots of requests at the moment. Are you looking at a particular monologue or do you want more of a character analysis?

For schools that want a 3/4 body shot for the tape is it cool to move aroind and use the benefit of the wider frame you have. Like angle away, turn back to camera etc?
@ShakespearewithSarah
@ShakespearewithSarah 6 ай бұрын
You can, but just keep in mind, when we lose connection with your eyes, we lose connection with you. With my students I usually get them to rehearse moving around freely to start with and then bring it back to simplicity by practicing gluing your eyes to one spot for the whole monologue. Does that help?

I am doing this monologue for my audition but I was wondering is this a poetic monologue do u think?
@ShakespearewithSarah
@ShakespearewithSarah Жыл бұрын
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Technically it is poetic because it's written in a rhythmic structure (iambic pentameter), and she is using some imagery to make her point, however it's not poetic in the sense of being "beautiful or philosophical". Definitely don't try to make it sound beautiful - she's a pretty rough character.
