Neos love algae,i put plants and rocks that are covered in algae and they pick them clean with in 24hrs. So I've found the more the better

The aged oak leaves I have are absolutely covered in algae. The shrimp have cleared it all off. The problem I'm worried about is I ended up with a hair algae outbreak in my tanks last time, and I'm trying to avoid it. I'm trying to figure out a way to grow hair algae so that I can feed the tank.

Have you checked out Mark's shrip tank's on KZbin?
@aquaticfanaticsuk7 ай бұрын
Yes, I love Mark's shrimp tanks. I've used a few of his ideas in my videos. I posted a comment on his video the other day, and his reply was that I needed to start making more shrimp content. Other good channels I've been watching are Mark Shelley, Garden of Eder, and GBee Shrimp.

Cheers, Paul. I've never really had one like this before. I'm dying to know how far I can take it. I've been scratching my head since moving into this house on what I can do, and this seems to tick all the boxes for me.

Nice to have goals. You are doing it right One step at a time and learning before jumping in with high end Although I only have one aquarium with shrimp ..I do like them. I am trying to do the same with my shubunkin goldfish

I've had shrimp for a few years but kept them the way I keep snails. They were just there in the background. Now, I want to focus on keeping them with their needs as a priority and learning every step of the way. I want to get as much dialled in as possible before moving up a level. During my time with Goldfish, I found that I was very regimented. I knew a lot I didn't have other fish. I had a quarantine method with meds, I knew their diet well. I did very large regular water changes. I just knew them better than I do other fish. It's this level of knowledge and practice I hope to gain with shrimp. Like selecting show quality compared to pet shop grade like I could do with my ranchu and oranda. I really like your goldfish content and I look forward to seeing more of what you get up to.

Shrimping is the way forward. Baby food once a week when you see babies, I put cuttlefish bone into neos as a calcium source. You can add a pinch of bacterial powder as well, to add to the biofilm growth which also aids in baby survival

Glen, I am a sponge for information at the moment. I want to learn everything I can from Neos and then take it up a level.

I love shrimp. With my water, I could never keep crystals or Taiwan bees without buying ro water or an Ro system. Your shrimp look great, so do your plants 🙂👍
@aquaticfanaticsuk7 ай бұрын
Cheers Tara! I've been told that I can keep tigers in my water as long as I use a soil tk buffer the ph down. So I'm thinking of having a go at those before I try bee shrimp, which will need RO water remineralised.
