No, not brackish water, mate. Angels are pretty easy, at least 50 litres per fish in a taller tank. Softer water with a slightly acidic to neutral ph. Water 26-28 degrees. I feed flakes, pellets, or frozen and live foods

@ I’ll be damned Last time i got 4 dwarf angels they died on me My tank is pretty soft since it has a bit of tannins from the driftwood and decaying plants ( my tank has loads of pothos as a filter ). I also bought 4 dwarf rainbows with those same angels and instead, the rainbows thrives in my tank

@vxxen6020 Angels can be one of those hit and miss fish when buying from a lot of shops because they are mass produced and kept in poor conditions. I usually try and source mine from a local breeder or a local shop that has sourced them from a breeder

@horizonfishkeeping yeah, we've got a bit, nothing major, which is turning to slush now. The problem is when it freezes tonight. I'm just counting down the days until spring now

@@aquaticfanaticsuk yeah me too it’s a pain trying to heat the place one day it’s -3 out side so I crank the fish room up then next it’s 10c can’t will we will have to do a live at some point mate

@horizonfishkeeping it's an absolute pain. The other week, my tanks were at 19 degrees with the heater on full, so I ended up putting heaters in the tanks. A few days later and all the ranks were at 30. Yeah, would be nice to catch up on a live

Yeah, I totally agree. The problem is, his fans rock up to walstad groups armed with his theories and then start steamrolling everyone with a different opinion. And unfortunately, a lot of his opinions Diana Walstad says don't work in her book. So, then, the heated debates start. I've seen extremely experienced Walstad veterans who have been doing it for years get kicked out of groups for losing their patience with hoards of people telling them they're wrong.

Yeah, it's got me to the point now where I've decided to change track with the hobby. I originally started the channel wanting to showcase my breeding projects and had walstad hacks and vibes. The dirted tank content brings a lot of eyes to your channel, but they can be the wrong type of eyes. So, for my own peace of mind, I want to go back to what I originally intended for the channel. I've got myself a few breeding projects growing out, and I'm working on a couple of big projects atm.

I'll be seeing which ones my fish like and reordering those

@Miniteich_Kröte brilliant! I've got one that has exploded with growth and has pups growing from the bulb. I've got another one that hasn't really grown much

I was gutted to let the goldfish go, but I was doing mental gymnastics working out where everything could go, and they just wouldn't fit. I have TNC complete and iron fertilisers. The thing is, I find that after a while of dosing it, I seem to get hair algae issues. Never really figured out why this happens
