This is quite a handy thing for occasional use, but cooling is poor. I didn't realise that the NVMe SSD that I was cloning from was a 2230 and while this enclosure works with a 2230, it doesn't have the clips to hold it securely. Inateck now have a newer version with a fan and support for 2230.

Hi Neil, thanks for the insight and thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This enclosure is compatible with sizes 2242, 2260, 2280 only. Therefore, the size 2230 SSD won't fit. And you are right, there is another version which can be used for size 2230. Here is the link for your reference: www.inateck.com/products/hard-drive-enclosure-for-m-2-nvme-sata-with-usb-3-2-fan-fe2022?_pos=6&_sid=e9fed507a&_ss=r .

Does the supposed hitsink even make full contact with the external metal case so the heat can actually be dissipated ?

How hot does the SSD get after an hour of use?

Mine came with only the silicon pad and no metal radiator piece

when the blue led is not blinking is the drive fried or is there any other problem? Can't read my drive. It worked well untill power outage
@GizmoJoeReviewsTechАй бұрын
Could be the outage fried the enclosure's internals or the SSD is dead. Do you have another SSD you can chuck in it to verify that the enclosure is still working? Good luck.

@GizmoJoeReviewsTech everything works again! Asked an IT guys and he told me to disconnect the enclosure, remove the disk and leave it all on the desk for a few hours and then install it again and try. It worked! I'm stoke
