great review. how does the winding feel? light tight? One con for me is it does not allow me to keep winding passing maximum power reserve.

Little story: bought this watch 2 years ago. After 5 months it simply stopped and wouldn’t restart. I sent it back to Sugess via their warranty service and never heard back. After six months I basically forgot about it thinking well that’s the way it goes. Just before Christmas some 16 months after returning it a new one arrived at my door. It was a nice surprise but what does this say about customer service ?

thank you for sharing the story. I ordered one at the near end of last month and it has taken far far longer than other Sugess to arrive already with the same pervious shipping notifications which is confusing to actually work out where it is. Hopefully the watch is reliable and can last more than 5 months, thanks for notifying for whenever if i am actually going to receive i know how reliable it may be after this and not as much as i thought

Yes I bought one 2years ago. BUT I had a problem with the winding. As it was out of the 12 month garantie. I have had no help with spairs etc with my problem

Love it. Just ordered one with roman numerals, I work with modern electronic technology and currently using a smart watch - but as I age, I'm becoming more & more fascinated with mechanical engineering, and this watch movement is a mindblowing achievement. If I manged to scramble the funds for a (very) entry-level swiss tourbillon, it would likely end up in my safe, never to see the light of day for fear of scratching or otherwise damaging it. With this, I can enjoy the movement every day. Thanks for helping me decide. :-) Watch of my dreams is the A Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk, but the price? H*ll no.

@@that1guy910 the winding stem broke 2 weeks ago. Not sure how, I don't overwind, and have no recollection of bumping in to anything. I've ordered new winding stem (* 2) from sugess, and they were good to deal with. Also have an agreement with a local watchmaker who will replace it for me. With regards to the rest of the watch, it's holding up to the promises. It's off by a few seconds per day, but thats pretty good for a mechanical watch. Looking forward to getting it back on my wrist, it's become my everyday watch. 🙂

Just ordered a Sugess S429.02 Tourbillon Master MoonPhase. $849. I would never in my life be able to afford a Swiss Toubillon. And even if I could, I wouldn't spend that much on a watch. This watch looks very nice and will be a entertaining visual and I will know what it represents. Sometimes you have to treat yourself. Hats off to the Chinese company in business making watches for 60 years. Affordable. IMHO

I have a quite a few mid range watches in the $10 to $15 k range, and three inexpensive Chinese watches. I own the Chinese watches simply because I like the look of them. The more expensive watches I own because I both like the look of them, and the mechanical and artisan work they represent. The problem with this watch, despite its obvious better quality, is that it is an expensive cheap watch. It looks good but lacks the other attributes. I would buy it like a shot if I could get over the thought that it is an expensive cheap watch.

Well, it's all about PERCEIVED value. YOU perceive that a U$500 tourbillon for e.g has NO value. I perceive that a U$300 000 tourbillon by ALs has little value.....for money. Tell me, honestly do you think that same watch cost a tenth to make...U$30 000 even???? So where has the other U$270 000 gone? You still think that you're getting value for money? Those watches are highly overpriced. If the rich have money to throw away, ALs will gladly take it and run straight to the bank !!!! 😮. Shame.

Tourbillion is a century old /obsolete technology ,that has no practical value in modern days. The Swiss watchmakers got absolutely demolished by one Japanese watch maker, " Seiko" in every conceivable parameters, so now they are taking refuge in the context of exclusivity and branding. If we can make 2 nanometres Chipset with photolithography ,then making tourbillion is child's play ! Rolex retains its exclusivity by making less watches, not by increasing quality.

Yes, the tourbillon is obsolete technology but you could argue that mechanical watches have been an obsolete technology since 1973 when the quartz LCD watchs hit the market, yet mechanical watches continue to experience robust sales.

In this category $600 is unbelievably cheap. There's a lot of craft that goes into mechanical watchmaking. Cheap quartzes are great for accuracy but it's a whole other category of customer for something like this.
