I love that he says instead of remarking on the teaching, the student should be praised for "good learning"!

Seems like such a beautiful and peaceful human being and teacher. This is exactly the type of teacher I like to study with.

Gosh, here I am , 86 years old and just learning to play cello, and after viewing the beautiful instructions of this master teacher I weep that I missed out on learning the basics of music...........so, what do I do? what can I do?.........how can I create some semblance of beauty with these old fingers and weariness of mind? ...........I just keep playing .................

Keep playing, you are creating beauty. There is no weariness in your soul.

@@jacquelinegernay4291 ............Thank you Jacqueline for your encouragement.............When I first started the cello I'd listen to Jackie du Pre 's Elgar Concerto, etc.............and no doubt you too have listened to Jackieyou since you carry the same name............ my history so far is to start, stop, start, stop, start, stop.............taking my rented cello back to the rental shop about 4 times so far.....................well, guess what , I finally bought one of my own which I'm sure will give me stronger dedication to learn it..............

I am 53 years old, having taken cello lessons for one year. What is the point? I know i am definitely more capable now than when i started. Remember even the masters are constantly working on the sound. You never really stop learning, you never really get there. Enjoy the process of life and developing your passion. Go back to where you started and hear how much better it is now. Stay strong, stay brave.

Amazing! Yes, how the students learn. Learning happens in a minute. When they learn something they've been working on in years, tell them good bye!! Go home. Don't talk to anyone. 😂 Wonderful! I can relate as a cello instructor.

This rather large cello made by Antonio Stradivarius was made in 1701. The former owner sinds 1840 was the Belgian celloist, composer François Servais (Halle,Brussels,Belgium) It stands now in the Washington Smithsonian Museum (USA). Occasionally it is lended out to other great celloist's such as the dutch celloist Anner Bylsmla
