I'm going to say something that is not going to sit well with some people, and I don't care. One thing that I've learned from getting into learning dog behavior and dog training that is related to raising children or having a friend group; is that weak people create too many problems. In parenting it raises spoiled brats. In dogs it raises a variety of issues. People who have very weak energy are problem creators, and often they will blame outside forces for problems that they create. There is some hole or some weakness in some people that they have to fill by projecting onto kids or dogs. This could be an entire discussion on what that may be or why that may be, but I've seen it with parents of kids who are out of control and I have seen it from dog owners who have dogs that have behavioral issues. In fact, it's behind most of the episodes of the Dog Whisperer that I've seen. People like this young man, who can't seem to stop indulging bad behavior. I recall one episode where a man said he felt like going in to rescue his dog when Cesar was calmly standing in front of the dog waiting for it to calm it's state of mind. The dog going through those emotions to learn self control made the owner feel so bad that he said he wanted to rescue the dog from the situation. This, AFTER Cesar had already explained that the owner's babying behavior was the source of the dog's misbehavior. This can be a Pandora's Box of issues to discuss, but IMO it is linked to so many issues. Not just with dogs and not even just with kids. It's society itself that is suffering from weak people indulging their own insecurities by projecting upon the world. If you object to the word "weak", find a better word. To me, it works. I believe it is weakness. However, you could also use words like emotionally dependent, or emotionally fragile. It could be weak willed, or emotionally empty. It could be a mot of words, but I see it. Dogs reveal our true nature to us, only most people don't see this. They respond to our energy, and a fault in our energy creates a behavior from the dog that reveals a truth about us. The question is whether we are mature enough to learn that lesson or not. I remember this episode, and if I recall correctly the boy did improve. I hope it stuck. That's all any of us can do when we have a character weakness. None of us are perfect, but the question is whether we can improve or continue to be our own worst enemy. No one has to fail to adjust. You can learn. I hope that this growth stayed with this young man.

Size isnt the issue its the owners giving affection at the wrong time particularly when the dog is exhibiting negative behaviour. They are rewarding the dog for displaying negative behaviour. Therefore the size of the dog is irrelevant because the owners need to change their behaviour and the dog will change too but as Ceszar explained its going to be difficult. The son has ignorned Cezsar's instructions hence his disappointment.
@RRonco7 ай бұрын
@@SedriqMiers that's not what they're saying. A semi truck that veers off the road into a populated area is prone to do a lot more damage than a tricycle doing the same thing. If you have a badly behaved large dog, it is bound to be more disruptive to others then when a dog is teeny. Same with cleaning up after them. A little dog that poops a tootsie roll is a lot easier to handle than one that poops a bread loaf.

Been watching Cesar here in Spain for about 20 yrs....he even came to Europe and got a show started here in Spain for a while. Some of his techniques work perfectly on horses, I use them cos he actually performed on horses a couple of times. The more the human "humanises" his animals (they are not family, buddies or equals), the less he understands them and the harder it is for him to act positively for the animal. It has nothing to do with how much you love your animals....it has to do with the quality leader you are or not, or honestly aspiring to be. He used to talk about the 3 realities you must set up and in the only possible order. Hierarchy, you are above your animal so you claim the space and he moves for you.....Respect, no giving or taking unnecessary or gratuitous physical pain, no way........Affection, you can show it in all the quantities and ways you want, I don't kiss my horses, but I know americans just love to kiss their dogs in the mouth (seriously, not a hygienic idea...dogs lick other dogs' private parts...not good for you). So, once you establish those points in that order you work with your animals. Leadership necessarily includes giving balance, control, protection and direction to your animals, at home and outside. You will NEVER see Cesar "baby-talk" to a dog...why? To play at it is ok, but to use it as a form of communication with your dog is just stupid.....and many people are just that, no leadership qualities for the dog to FOLLOW and wonder why the dog does not obey in situations of necessity. The problem is ours, we think we know (myself included), we think nobody really understands our dog like we do, we think that our feelings and the way we express them to our dogs are simply correct. We do not see the need to change anything.......yet here comes Cesar doing his magic, then explaining what YOU have to change to do the same magic and we just don't want to change...well good luck!

Great Episode As Always..! But One thing i want to get off my chest for YEARS now. Why are almost ALL of the "American Versions" of European Dog Breeds, so damn Ugly compared to the Original European Standard?? This "Dane", seems a Cross-Misfit-Dane and smaller, to me. They're Really supposed to be Húge ! Also most "American" German Shephard's (often) look different compared to our European/German Standard.

american gsd's generally come from show line's, whereas most german gsd's come from working lines - as a result there are differences in appearance and what work they are best suited to
@ktkchu7 ай бұрын
not sure why you think the american great dane is ugly. but in short, you have to understand that when these breeds are imported to other countries, differences will develop in the breed over time. the breeders that imported the breed likely value different traits or characteristics so they will select their breeding pairs differently than the breeders from the dog's originating country
