I'm still pretty happy with my Vortex Spitfire prism optics. I have a 1x and a 3x. The 1x is on my 9mm AR PCC and my 3x is on my Bushmaster lower "firearm" with 12.5" barrel upper. I only paid like $170 for the 1x optic, it doesn't even require battery power because of the etched reticle, so backup sights aren't necessary either. Another big plus for me is that I have astigmatism, and it makes red dots look like weird blobs, but prism optics are clear and crisp.

I have nothing but praise for my Aimpoint Duty. It delivers everything I wanted and needed in a red dot. I don’t see any blue tint, and I’m very…familiar with blue tint having owned a Trijicon RX30 hahaha. I never turn it off. Buttons are fine, even with gloves in my experience. I run it in my 11.5” suppressed SBR. Im not easy on that gun at all. It goes everywhere with me and gets banged into lots of stuff. I don’t mess with my windage and elevation after sighting it in so that doesn’t make a huge difference to me, but I do keep the wrench in my grip. We’ll see how long the battery last but I expect at least a couple years using settings 6, 7 & 8 90+% of the time. I’ll see how long that first battery lives then change it once a year. Nobody sent it to me either. I payed my own money for it. I’ll definitely buy a couple more.

I am a fan on aimpoints, years behind the M68 mainly and a little bit the the T1 the only thing that is off putting to me about the rds is the push button. I am a fan of the rotary switch and since I live in Alaska push buttons are a suboptimal thing when adjusting the dot with thick glove. Other than that looks like a good option for most folks.

There are so many optics in that price range and lower... The only benefit you have with this is the name. People have been asking for something like this for a decade.... But it's too little too late. Other companies have established themselves and are trusted. The aim point name will carry them for awhile, but not forever.

The age of aimpoint is over anymore, they keep making the same thing over and over and not really changing anything and other companies are just blowing past them. The days where someone got an aimpoint(2008) because there was no other option worth it are going now man, lots of great options that just beat out aimpoint.

I’m very happy with my Sig Romeo 4T and would highly recommend it. This doesn’t seem to really do anything better. It’s not quite in the budget category and it’s just inferior to the T2 in every way. The 4T can be had for anywhere between $350-500 depending if you find a deal. I almost never see any Aimpoint on sale lol. Shake awake, split panel, 4 reticles and super clear and crisp sight picture, comes with kill flash, see through and solid lense caps, and it uses T1/T2 mounts. It’s been sighted in use with Delta and Craighead(SAS) used it to smoke those terrorists. Approved for use by the FBI (eww lol) and is from what I can tell from some research assembled in the US with US and Japanese parts. One article said there’s zero Chinese parts even and gets all imported resources from ally countries. The 4T is a hidden gem if you ask me.

Aimpoints are so damn overrated and overpriced. A lot of their simple, single dot rds are more expensive than a friggen eotech. For 1/4 the price you can get a nice enclosed holosun that has shake awake, 3 seperate reticles, insane battery life, nuclear bright reticle... My holosun has now been through 3 carbine courses and well over 3k rounds and it's never lost zero and I've had zero issues. Take the money saved and put it into ammunition or better yet a carbine course!

Your cheap Holosun is not of equal quality Your budget sight is made by semi slave labor in communist China and this sight is made in Sweden. I can't believe you would compare communist China products with Swedish made and say that the non communist China product is way overpriced because communist China products are much cheaper. No shit? I wonder why buddy??? Could it be that their communist workers are paid about 20 bucks a week to make your Holosun sight? $500 is a good price for an AimPoint.

@@sean6.6 Go ahead and pick your Chinese shit it's fine and I own plenty of Chinese shit myself because I'm not rich either. What I don't do is criticize companies who decide not to Outsource their products to fucking communist China. You can compare prices between Chinese products all you want. But comparing European or American made products prices to chinese-sweatshop made products is pretty stupid. I would own a Holosun optic but I'm not ignorant enough to believe Chinese sweatshop glass is equal to European or American, so I'm not dumb enough to put them in the same category as far as quality. @@sean6.6 I did not criticize you for buying a Chinese sight. I have a Sig Romeo and I know where it's made. But critically comparing the price of something made in Europe by well paid, and well treated people to something made in China where they literally can treat workers any way they want to, while paying slave wages is absurd. Have you looked at what Chinese factory workers make? You could never pay and treat workers decently and compete with China on price and China cannot match the quality of something made in places like Sweden or Germany or something like that. A Corvette is really nice, fast and costs a lot less than a Lamborghini or McLaren too.

The same reason glock refuses to innovate. It's purely a brand name income earner. If you notice any of the new glocks coming out they're actually now cutting corners yet keeping them at the exact same price point. At 500 bucks this is aimpoints "budget" selection. Notice how NOTHING has been improved but rather many corners have been cut but since it has aimpoint stamped on the side none of that even matters. For 500 bucks you can now get a tested and proven rds WITH a 3x magnifier.... Or better yet for around the same price during a sale you can pick up one of the newer eotech holo sights.
