Yes! Totally agree with the idea that my whole house is sacred space. I tend to have altars all over the house. I work with Hekate and she wanted an altar, maybe more of a shrine, in my kitchen. So yes! She's in the very public area of my kitchen. (I noticed my nephew was looking at it with confused interest at Christmas!) And also agree found or made additions are the best! Thank you as always!

It’s funny when the gods insist on their own altars, right? I love that your nephew was curious ☺️ I have nine altars or shrines in my house 🤭 The Cailleach has her own in my living room, I have my main one in my living room too along with a prosperity altar!!! Then I have shrines to Cerridwen, Branwen, Brigid, Bast, Cernunnos/The Green Man . I’m a bit extra 😆😆😆

I love your altar, it's so colourful and whimsical with all the hand-made art. An altar is such a deeply personal and intuitive space, I (especially as an atheist witch) can't stand all the "you should always have XYZ on your altar" lists on social media. Also, as a person from NW Europe, it fascinates me how witches from parts of the world with different climates and seasonal changes use and interpret the Wheel of the Year, with its typically Northern hemispherical seasonal progression. It's pronounced AH-tha-may btw, not ah-THAY-mee.

I love your altar. I find the idea of someone not changing there altar weird because we are everchanging beings, but you do you. I haven't had a deity altar in about 4 years. I personally don't call my space an altar, I usually call it a working space or sacred space or something like that. To me, altars still have a meaning of religious practice, even though I know they're not just for religious practice, so that's why I call my space by a different term.

Thank you! Yes, I feel the need to change my altar regularly as the world around me changes. I like the name sacred space too! I completely understand being triggered by the term altar in relation to organised, patriarchal religions, you’re definitely not alone there! I actually see witchcraft, or rather the paganism associated with it in my practice to actually BE my religion, but it has taken me a long time to embrace or reclaim the word religion in connection with my practice!!! Thanks for joining the conversation about altars!!

Thank you for sharing your alter and showing how you incorporate your art (and other's art) into everything you do. Just beautiful. The artwork is what drew me to your channel.Your point that the whole house is a sacred space is well noted. I am learning and am drawing much inspiration from your videos. Thanks again.

Such a wonderful journey round your sacred space, thanks for sharing. I think William Morris said don't have anything in your space that you don't find beautiful or useful. Personally I love the candlelight atmosphere and it catching all the lovely surfaces! Its so beautiful, very you. Blessings x

Did you make your poppet? I’m tempted to make one for a Imbolc but I don’t know how.
@correganthecrone
@correganthecrone Жыл бұрын
I did! It’s pretty easy. I used two sheets of crafting felt, sewed them together with embroidery thread, leaving a little gap where I could stuff in some cotton wool and herbs, then sewed up the gap. You can use any fabric, and you don’t have to see it, you can use glue or even staples! I would recommend watching Kelly Ann Maddox’s video on poppets, she gives so much information about them! Hang on, let me see if I can find her video.
