How can you not just fall in love with these beautiful creatures - they bring such joy to me - thank you for all the work that you do with these animals & posting your video's. I really have such a different perspective about animals who are held in captivity .
@culibarri27093 жыл бұрын
I find wild animals in captivity a bit disconcertin as well, but we have a problem in the US. Only a minority of all the millions of American are exposed to even domestic animals regularly. Only 1% of the US population farms. (As compared to 50% in 1975, 48% in 1985, and less than 10% after than. With a bit of variation between 1990 and now, we are now down to 1%. This means many, many people have no exposure to the domestic animal world, much less the wild animal world. I don't think it was this viewing, but someone commented on how amazed they were that horses have such varying personalities across individuals. They compared them to cows, "that are all the same". They are not BTW. I believe that well-managed zoos are essential for maintaining the link between people and the wild. Wild animals, where they live, and how precious they are. People need to see the habitats they need. Even if the baobab trees are made of concrete. We all love watching the elephants 1,000s of miles away, but do any of us know what they smell like, how their skin feels, or whether the tips of their trunks are damp or not? What does their breath smell like? How much air can they move with their ears? I know that some of us do. My thought is not the majority. I believe that any one of us would leap at the chance to go to Jubalani. And why? To experience the real elephants themselves. But most of us cannot visit. Most of us are fortunate to be able to visit a zoo with a small elephant herd. Sit and watch them. Smell them when the breeze is right. We, conservation-minded people, have to maintain, or rebuild, the human-wild animal bond on an emotional level. On a visceral level. Animals have to feel essential to large groups of people for the animals to survive. In my mind, animals are essential, but I meet so many people who have no idea of what a wild animal is or needs. Until everyone can see wildlife in the wild, the bond can only be built if people see animals as living beings. OK. Small apologies for my soap box. As people move further away from "the country", they seem to lose the connection. So many people see animals as things...not beings. Thank you if you made it this far. I am probably preaching to the choir to a great extent.

This is very beautiful to see. Elephants are such intelligent, compassionate, mammals. Aways been fascinated by elephants and cetaceans, (probably because of their cognitive capabilities and self-awareness). They truly see you as family Adine. Wonderful to be greeted in such a way by another special. Such compassion & love ❤. WOW!! This video actually brought happy tears to my eyes as I was watching this video. These elephants totally and unconditionally love Adine so very much.👍🏻❤️🐘 As I was watching this video yes, the elephants were definitely curious as to where Adine had been because I know that elephants, just like any other animal, can sense when someone is not there. I know they sure did miss her and I do not believe that they would ever want to hurt the one person who saved their lives and who has loved them ever since they have been at The Orphanage too. These Elephants most definitely have an absolutely awesome relationship with Adine and I honestly don’t believe that they would ever want to hurt her in any way but, it is also very good thet the handlers were there to help in case an elephant did get out of hand. But this video proves it will never happen because there is absolute unconditional love and Adine is their Savior in these elephants eyes. Thank you for this video and I love these elephants and always will. Seriously, I could talk and talk about this video because if I could go through the video to hug all the elephants I wouldn’t because of the love and respect they showed for their friend Adine. Thanks you Elephants, Adine, and handlers too for an awesome video. Love, Sue(Florida, USA)❤️😘🥰🤟🏻🌸🙏🏻🌴🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🦋😍❌⭕️❌⭕️
