Hey, can I use this with a clay bar? I'm totally lost about what products to buy for detailing my white Mazda CX-30. I want to do paint correction (thinking of using a DIY gold polisher), and I'd like to use your ceramic coat for three years and some tire dressing. But I'm not sure if this product will work for decontamination. Can you help me out? Is there any way you can send your products to Colombia? Thanks!
@DanielReyes-hz1qk8 күн бұрын
In case you haven't already gotten your answers elsewhere, I doubt you'd want to use this with a clay bar or clay towel. This would be the final step AFTER wash, decon and polishing. You'd want a dedicated clay lube, a shampoo or rinseless wash that can be used as a clay lube, or my new favorite thing an iron remover that can be used as a clay lube. You'd need a strong car wash soap for initial cleaning, an iron remover, some form of mechanical decontamination (clay bar, clay towel etc), product for paint correction/polishing, a panel prep spray, then your coating. And of course appropriate media like microfiber wash pads/mitts, microfiber towels for drying, microfiber towels to wipe residual polishing compound, microfiber towels to wipe the prep spray, and applicators for the ceramic coating
@doinky3Ай бұрын
Do you use the same microfiber for the whole vehicle or do you have to change the cloth as you go?

One is usually enough. Just flip to clean sides every other panel or so.

Hi Pan, Is there a certain GSM towel that you recommend for the panel prep. Just wondering if a dual pile towel would be best and what is preferred for the best results. Just purchased and received the panel prep, 8-year coating and the shampoo.

It’s a question of personal perference really. I typically like 300-350 gsm low nap towels for panel preps.

Pan, any thoughts on using the Panel Prep spray as a glass cleaner vs something like Bilt Hamber traceless? Will your panel prep strip your ceramic coating on outside windows? I have loved all your products so far- they make my car look great and are fun to use! Thank you.

You can absolutely use my panel prep to clean glass. Coatings on glass don’t last as long as they do on paint, so I wouldn’t worry about weakening the glass coating too much.

Pan, can your Clean. rinseless wash be used as a panel prep? My current go-to (DIY Detail Rinseless V1) is actually a pretty good panel prep diluted 16:1.
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
No, you would still need to use a panel prep spray after the rinseless wash before applying a coating for example. Because keep in mind the rinseless wash was designed to be polymer focused (even though it also has surfactants), so it does leave a slick layer behind. Nothing durable and nothing that cures on the surface, and it can easily be removed with a panel prep spray or even just washing the car, but you should still panel prep after using my rinseless, if you are to apply some form of paint protection.
@stephenthompson1562Ай бұрын
Great video! So I just purchased your eight year ceramic coating I assume this is what I spray on before I apply the coating? Also being a 40 year veteran of graphic design I was wondering would you be interested in looking at an idea for a slight modification to your branding on the bottles?
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
Hi Stephen. All the instructions are very well written in the booklet that comes in the box. There’s more to a coating application than the application of the coating itself. The coating is the easy part. It’s all the prep work before applying it that is the important crucial part. But yes, the step after machine polishing would be to use the panel prep spray to remove polishing oils and residue. And then you apply the coating.
@Eric-vy7szАй бұрын

Loving your 8 year ceramic, wash soap and tire dressing thus far. The coating has great shine and water shedding properties. I also have the ceramic spray and need more guidance on how to use it with the 8 year coating? OK to use as drying aid? What actually happens if it 'rejects itself"?
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
Hi Corey! You can definitely use the Ceramic Spray Sealant as a drying aid on a wet surface. It’s only on a dry surface that you wouldn’t use it regularly as it’s stout and will reject itself. So on a dry surface, you only use it once or twice a year, or when you see hydrophobic properties starting to diminish after a few months. But as you have a crazy good coating as your base layer of protection, you can simply use the Ceramic Spray Sealant as a drying aid as often as you want. Wash the car, rinse it, and then one or two sprays maximum per panel and dry using a microfibre drying towel. Don’t forget to clean the towel after use or at least dunk it in a soapy solution or rinseless wash solution, as the sealant will start to cure on the fibers if you don’t clean it.
@CoreyThomas-p7iАй бұрын
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks! Is it also ok to use it ok top of a vehicle that is only waxed? I'm ready for your video on the sealant. With that said all the products I've used so far are top notch.
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
@@CoreyThomas-p7i Yes you can apply it on any existing protection as well. Just keep in mind, for best durability, you'd apply it on a dry surface, on a virgin clear coat that is clean and decontaminated. But you can still apply it on top of any existing protection, it will still give good gloss and slickness.

Could you blend some GS from Koch chemie when foaming with your shampoo? Or should you spray the gs by itself and rinse before using the shampoo?
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
It's impossible to know all the combinations when you trying to mix products from different brands. I wouldn't recommend that, but you can try if you want to. If you're at the point of needing to add APC in a shampoo, just use the KCx Active Foam at that point. It's pH 9.5 and is like a Gsf + GS premixed if you need that. But on its own, for a pH neutral shampoo, the CLEAN By Pan Shampoo has very good degreasing capabilities, so I would try it on its own first, and see if you even need something with a higher pH.

I used it with the 8 year coating. Flashes really quick, yet allows an easy wipe down. You can tell that panel prep sprays are not all the same by the way they spray and sit on the paint and flash. Makes no sense to do all the work for a coating and not spend the little extra $ and buy the prep spray from the same company.

Glad you're happy with the results! You definitely get what I'm saying when I say it's all about the details. And you are also correct when saying you can't cheap out on the panel prep step. This alone won’t fully remove existing protection. Only machine polishing can do that. Once you’re done machine polishing, that’s when you use a panel prep spray to remove polishing oils and residue, leaving behind a virgin clear coat. Then you apply paint protection.

Will the panel prep remove your ceramic spray ?
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
No as the Ceramic Spray Sealant is super stout, and does have excellent resistance to chemicals. Maybe if you did many many non stop back-to-back rounds of the panel prep you would start weakening the sealant after a while, but nobody would do that in their right mind. The only way to ensure 100% removal of any good protection is by machine polishing. You need mechanical abrasion from the compounding polish and pad. You can see just how chemically resistant the ceramic spray sealant is in this video from another content creator: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH21pKmtpLWFd9Usi=OS6IY-G_c5SYK1Gc It's actually too much resistance to chemicals haha, as nobody would ever submit their vehicle to such an onslaught of different chemicals. So those tests are always to be taken as entertainment. That's not what a panel prep spray is designed to do anyways. It's meant to remove polishing oils and residue after a paint correction process (machine polishing).

Products seem great but House of Rags needs to work on their packing during shipping. I ordered the 8 year ceramic coating, panel prep, tire dressing, and gallon of shampoo. On my initial order, the tracking number updated to say that it was being returned to sender due to the package being damaged in shipping. To their credit, they sent out a new order the same night I reached out. However, I just received this new order today and it was also damaged in shipping (but I guess not enough to be returned to sender). The shampoo leaked and I've lost some of the product and now there's a gooey film over the rest of the products. The plastic box for the ceramic coating was crushed from the backside and now the included applicator has some contaminants in it that I'm picking out. None of this is the fault of the product itself but not the overall experience I was hoping for, especially after my initial order didn't make it to me I was hoping the second one would be better protected. Haven't really seen any other comments with similar situations so maybe I'm just super unlucky but could be some room for improvement on THOR's end.

Make it more clear , Pan. You said the polish doesn't leave any oil or residue but now going for the panel prep you said let's remove the polishing oils.
@colinbeckstrand2612Ай бұрын
I think he was saying in general. Atleast from what I can tell he didn't say Clean by Pan Spray Polish. He just said "Polish". I don't remember him ever claiming you shouldn't wipe his spray polish away with a panel prep. I think he compared how sometimes you have to wipe multiple times with other polishes and with his it's easier to wipe off. Seems like semantics rather than misinformation.
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
That is correct. You got it Colin.
@PanTheOrganizerАй бұрын
My panel prep spray can be used to remove polishing oils from any polish. And even if my spray polish doesn’t leave a ton of oils behind like other polishes, and mine has no fillers or silicones, it’s still always best practice to use a panel prep spray after using any polish as there can still be residue you didn’t fully buff off with the towel. There are hills and valleys in clear coat and the panel prep spray helps to remove everything back to bare clear coat. I see using the CLEAN By Pan panel prep spray as an "insurance wipe" after using my Spray Polish.
