As a proud English Woman I found your praise for my beautiful home such a treat and it reminded me once again that I have such a rich history that in everyday life, I often forget 😉 As an avid crocheter myself I'm very proud of our many yarn shops up and down the British Isles. If you ever get the chance to visit us again, stop off in Scotland and Wales as you'll find some fantastic yarn shops there in their abundance.

We moved to the northwest of England just over a year ago from South Africa and the availability of such a variety of yarns at good prices. We're also astounded at the narrow roads! My nerves are always on edge when driving 😅. England is beautiful and we're happy to call it home now.

@@EliseRoseCrochet ahaha 🤣! My local yarn shop - Needlecraft in Hemel Hempstead (you should 100% visit when you next come to England, it’s about 30 mins from London) is about 5 minutes walk from my house and my legs sometimes just take me there, unconsciously. My wallet then appears to be empty….. I know how you feel 😂😂❤️🧶👍

I sometimes wish I could get out of England, but your commentary on York and Silverstone reminds me that there is a lot of history and beauty to be admired in our small island country. York is one of my favourite cities and my dream is to eventually live within that region, or the Lake District which you mentioned, as the scenery and history of both places takes my breath away.

As a British person I find it kind of sweet with how fascinated Americans can be by the age of a lot of our landmarks. This was so fascinating, Elise. As an American with mostly British Isles ancestry, this felt like a little history lesson of where my ancestors came from (mostly Scottish but some English and Irish, too.) The architecture was massive! It's a marvel how those castles and cathedrals were built without the aide of modern equipment! Just sheer man-power! And the yarn shop! All those gorgeous yarns!! I'd want them all! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful journey with us! (I'd never get used to driving on the left side of the road and through those narrow lanes!) Thrilling rides!! Thank you again.... So happy you all arrived safe and sound back home! ⚜️⚜️

I loved your vlog about your visits to England. As a UK resident it was amusing to see the reaction of Americans in the UK. You can buy flavoured water here! I think I would be overwhelmed if I visited the USA. Our poor old Queen, now resides in Windsor Castle, Windsor. Elise you would love Windsor. There is something magical going around London and seeing the sights. London at night is lovely. We are so lucky we have such a deep history. I do very much enjoy USA culture. And we all unite as we love yarn, buying yarn and creating wonderful things from yarn. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Very nice vlog.

They have a Beatrix Potter display in a small town called Long Melford, Suffolk, as well, she often used to stay there when she lived and apparently wrote some of her books there basing the characters on animals seen at Melford Hall. She was a cousin to the owner at the time, it is now maintained by the National Trust and if you enjoy her works well worth visiting. (Long Melford is also the village where a number of different television shows have been filmed/set, including Lovejoy which I believe was screened in the US).

Wow, just found this video and loved it. As a Brit whose lived in the states for 26 years , it was interesting listening to your comments about the narrow roads, the gps Comments because slide right or left are not UK phrases! This visit home, 3 months ago, I also visited Loop and fell in love with it, sadly my knees aren’t great and the thought of going upstairs defeated me But I wish I had now! It was great to see the Harry Styles cardigan because my 23 year old niece taught herself to knit creating that for herself. So glad you all enjoyed the trip, loved the mix up over the two “pitches” and was glad your son could see the funny side!

Its nice to see that knit shops are finally accepting of crocheters. It was not always the case. I got snubbed a couple of times in yarn stores when they found out i crochet, the store worker walked away, and I got no further help. It's good to see that has changed.

Dear Chronic Stitcher. They needn't be so snobbish because crochet especially Irish and Vential crochet produces a,delicate Victorian fabric not possible with knitting. In fact knitting to me might be therapeutic but is boring and repetitious and for me I end up not even wanting to finish the project. I always use yarn which looks like thread. As a rule, for my work yarn is too bulky to produce lace

I love this place! I'm from north IL, and have lived in London, England for 13 years, and just found this year! This shop is wonderful, and so easy to get to if you live in the Greater London area. Loved seeing your post when looking at some knitting videos. I miss my friends and family in the US so much, so love seeing video's of Americans coming over and appreciating London (through their eyes). Glad you enjoyed your stay in the UK. :)
