The film has that wonderful gothic horror skepticism, where there’s always a secondary perspective given by a character in the story that casts doubt on the reality of what the audience is seeing. For the Americans... Northern England is very far from London (in the *South* of England). When David was attacked, he was transferred to a London-based hospital whilst he was unconscious, perhaps because his injuries were so serious. Accents - English people find American accents very easy to understand. On the whole, Americans find English accents, especially northern accents or southern working-class accents quite difficult to understand. Remember the Alamo - The Alamo is a 1960 American epic historical war film about the 1836 Battle of the Alamo produced and directed by John Wayne. The film depicts the Battle of the Alamo and the events leading up to it. Sam Houston led the forces of Texas against Mexico-hence 'remember the alamo, and chucks out (throws out) the Mexican'. The Moors - an expanse of open rolling infertile land often covered with heather. Circumcision is not very common in the UK (even today), the only reason you'd get it is for religious reasons, or if there was some medical justification for it. The director of this movie also directed Michael Jacksons Thriller. So glad you got the humour.

To explain the whole dream thing, it's 1 or 2 things, he was heavily traumatized by the attack and started vividly mixing the attack and the werewolf with random dreams he had or with him being a werewolf his dreams are trying to tell him that he is now a werewolf through showing everyone in the dream with the face of a werewolf

This is the first official winner of best makeup at the Academy Awards (they decided to give it out every year because of this film - 1981).

Thanks Chris! We are wild and silly gals (especially me being jet lagged and sick) but I think this was an amazing film that I will never forget! Love the makeup and practical effects!!!

1. Jenny Agutter played Jessica in Logan's Run. That would be a great first time/share. HINT HINT 2. "A naked American man stole my balloons".🤣 3. All of the songs played have something about the moon. 4. Mr. Collins is played by Frank Oz. (Yoda/various Muppets) 5. "Queen Eliabeth is a man!", "Shakespeare's French!"🤣🤣 6. It makes you wonder what the speed limit was in Piccadilly Circus. Landis was having fun, and I'm not mad about that. 7. He had to die and he excepted it.😭 8. Favorite character: Jack 8. DO NOT waste your time (and ours) watching, "American Werewolf" in Paris.

Amazing how this movie still holds up, the special effects are just classic to the Bone and we are spoiled by the CG era. The talent it takes to do that make up/practical effects is 100% a lost art. The weird guy from the US Embassy is none other than Frank Oz famous for Kermit, Ms Piggy and of coarse Jedi Master Yoda!

Frank Oz also had a small role in the Blues Brothers. He's the prison guard at the start handing back the possessions. Corrections Officer : One Timex digital watch, broken. One unused prophylactic. [looks disgusted, picks something up with his pen] One soiled.

AWiL's animatronics is legendary. A lotta heart and effort poured into that transformation scene. I also liked the part where the werewolf sees his past victims everywhere. That's considered a new take on werewolf lore. Another werewolf classic is The Howling which is oldie but a goodie. The Wolf Man (1941) and its 2010 remake, The Wolfman, are pretty good too 👍

Yes!!! Micheal Jackson was a HUUUGE fan of this movie. So much so, that he recruited both John Landis to direct the video for Thriller, and Rick Baker to also work on the special effects for both the werewolf and zombie sequences. This flick is absolutely an American horror/comedy classic!!
