H&M, Zara and Sephora are Swedish, Spanish and French brands respectively. Just saying... Edit: we're far from ten million in Stockholm. More like one million in the central parts and another million if you count the suburbs. If it feels like more it might be because we're out and about more than in U.S. cities. The city is so compact you really don't need a car to go round.

I meant that those stores were the only ones I recognized from living In the US. Thanks for the fact check lol. From my first experience, the city was huge. The public transportation is elite here compared to the US

If revisiting stockholm i would recommend checking out the royal palace or some museums, most of them are free. There are signs and stuff in english it usually only costs of you want a guided tour.

Roadtrips in sweden are awesome, so many great places to visit. I have a long list of places i wanna go to, i will get there in time when i have it. Funny thing with sweden, 9 out of 10 people will be able speak good english with you if you need to ask for the way or anything. A lot of people will just automaticly switch over to english as soon as they hear or overheard you speak it, without you telling them that you are from the US, Thats just how it works most of the time.
@therealwan2 жыл бұрын
I would love to hear your list of placed to visit. The Sweds speak English well. Sometimes when I speak with people they get embarrassed about It. They are able to carry a conversation with me so I tell them that their English is great!
@Pubbehey12 жыл бұрын
@@therealwan well, my list is not finished yet but i a have a few places that i really need to visit or that i want to explore more 1. the west coast, towns like "grebbestad" and "strömstad" or "halmstad" during the summer. (Can really recommend to sit at the cliffs close to shore with a mobile speaker with some nice music and alcoholic drinks and some nice food & friends on a varm sunny day) 2. east coast towns like "kalmar" and "karlskrona" and i really would like to go to gotland & öland again and see the medieval town of visby. ( one thing to do is to search for medival castles and go visit them in each town). I have yet to visit my hometown castle in "Örebro". All of these during the summer and specially during midsummer would have been awesome with a couple of friends. Maybe even a roadtrip and visit 1 coast each time. stay a day or two on each spot to really get into the city / town. I have been once to halmstad, and tylösand beach is something else! Really recommend to go there and chill at the beach. I have been to a couple of these towns, but only with work or drove past them, or that i have been there for a very short time, not enough to explore the things i want to explore. During winter i would want to go up a long way up north. And hike a bit and maybe some fishing & camping in the forest. And i really love to ski, so "Åre" are one spot that i would like to visit to go sking and maybe rent a cabin with a couple of friends.

The medieval museum is awesome and free and will be moving next year to a location which isn’t as good, so I’d check it out while you still can! I think the Vasa museum isn’t free, but it’s really cool! I also like livrustkammaren (Royal armory?!), but idk if it’s one of the free ones either or not. Skansen I think is the worlds biggest outdoor museum (also zoo with Swedish animals), it’s not free but really nice!

You Americans are too car dependent by getting tired after sitting on a train, then having to walk up some stairs, and on an escalator at that, that's seen as very lazy here in Scandinavia, and not being fit, but different culture and mindset. Basically doing something your legs are meant to do, walk. Here we value freedom, personal space, and privacy as well as hikes and the outdoors being a huge part of the culture, and identity besides being farming and fishing nations, not just talking about Sweden here, but also Norway where I'm from... Also we have a saying: ''no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes'', meaning you should dress for the weather, and especially good shoes if walking a lot.
