Actor. These people know everything about how the heavens came to be, how the earth was formed and how life began, evolved and is as it is, now, but how were the pyramids built and how were those 1000 ton blocks moved in Luxor. The earth doesn't spin and we've never been to the moon.

I guess he’s missed the papers using bird-flight simulation software showing that even the largest pterosaurs are perfectly flight capable under modern atmospheric conditions. The sheer disregard for most of the available evidence and research and the huge amount of conjecture is appalling. We know a lot about pterosaur flight and to see all that basically ignored is really frustrating. TedX should really set the bar higher next time. To any curious readers, read Mark Witton’s blog post entitled “Why We Think Giant Pterosaurs Could Fly” for a summary of what we know about giant pterosaurs’ flight ability. Lots of great references there if you’d prefer a primary source.

He hasn't missed them, those "studies" are not even worth a piece of used toilet roll. They are Jerry rigged nonsense. Par excellence. Remember if you FALL OUT OF THE SKY YOU DIE. It's rather "DNA ending" wouldn't you say.? You have to ALWAYS reliably come back to your offspring. Or its bye bye

What if the fossil record only hosts featherless examples of these animals because they contracted a condition that de-feathered them and influenced only the afflicted to die in fossilization optimal locations. Flight feathered body dimensions would have significantly more lift not requiring thicker air to attain flight. How does 4x atmospheres pressure compare to water weight pressure when diving? At what depth would these feel the same to us?
