It's called Shepherd's pie lol And that was a MISERABLE example of one!! It's usually a layer of ground lamb or beef (cooked with red wine & herbs if you're fancy), a layer of corn, peas and other spring harvest veggies, and a layer of buttery mashed potatoes on top. Bake it together and the mash turns all golden crusty. You serve it with gravy. It's a simple but delicious family casserole based on the spring harvest. Major comfort food! THAT one was just nasty.

@@bodyofhope No, that wasn't even trying to be shepherd's pie. Idk what that cornbread nonsense was.

Honestly, as New Yorker who’s lived in Oz for a year...a Jamaican beef patty would be slightly closer to a meat pie
@FionaEm4 жыл бұрын
OMG that cornbread pie looks awful 🤮 I hope you found a proper meat pie eventually! They have real chunks of actual beef and are delicious 😋 And next time, you need WAY more sprinkles on your buttered bread to make true fairy bread 😅
@NAcHO-wx5vg3 жыл бұрын
I’m American but I’m guessing even a pot pie would be closer than that thing.

I always notice on these food swaps, or this country tries another country's food, that the people involved always seem to not find a good representation of the other country's food. Hence all the comment sections "wtf, we don't eat that!" "That's not how you make such and such", etc. I think it would be more realistic if you actually had the people native to the country to actually make the food, or at least give them a recipe of some sort, because it might be something that's not available in their country. Btw, I never heard of fairy bread until a couple years ago, but it sounds frickin delicious

what made me mad was he said he the fair bread tasted like too much butter but he litterally added 20% sprinkles and 80% butter, also why did he get to have a say in the meat pie
@palmer12903 жыл бұрын
Jeff's choices are actually disgusting. I feel uncomfortable. Everything he gave her is dessert. And he has the nerve to complain about her menu? Disgusting.
The meat pie vote is null and void. It was not a Meat Pie, not even close 🤣

First off, everyone in the USA has avocado toast & chicken parm is a regular dinner option here too. I feel like the only breakfast food we don't have here is vegemite. Second, Aussie waffles are sweeter than the waffles we use for chicken and waffles. We use buttermilk and it's fluffy and buttery but you def wouldn't want to take a bite of it without syrup but in AU you totally can just bite into your waffle. If your waffle is crunchy enough to hold up the entire thing in your hand, it's too sweet for chicken and waffles.

I love that Jeff is like “Americans eat like 5 year olds their whole life” I eat chicken and vegetables for lunch, or pad Thai or whatever. Not peanut butter and jelly And I definitely don’t eat cereal for breakfast not since I was 10

A spoon, Jeff, around the sides.... that's how you get avocado out. Best chicken and waffles... HOMEMADE CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN, HOMEMADE BELGIAN WAFFLES, STRAWBERRY BUTTER, AND MAPLE SYRUP WITH A TOUCH OF HOT SAUCE IN IT. (Not just any hot sauce, a particular brand that I can't remember the name if at the moment) YES, YES, YES.... THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT! PLEASE... Avocado toast... there is so much you can do with avocado toast, why the hell would you simply spread it? You can grill the bread or toast it, you can add an egg, tomatoes, bacon, or vegan bacon (shaved carrots dupe) , you can put cream cheese with chive and onion on the bread with the bacon or fried ham, with tomatoes, maybe arugula, an egg, and sliced avocado with salt and pepper... like... there's a lot you can do... I don't feel like these recipes are being properly executed...

As an American Avo toast efficianado, after cutting the avo in half and removing the seed, you squeeze lemon juice into the hole where the seed was, sprinkle it with salt and Aleppo pepper and then mash right in the avo skin. Apply to toast and enjoy!
