For more information on this topic, I have written a “field manual” called Engine Performance Diagnostics which is available at www.scannerdanner.com as an eBook or paper book.
Want even more diagnostic training? Whether you are a DIY trying to fix your own car, someone looking to become an auto technician, or a current auto technician that wants to get more into diagnostics, subscribe to ScannerDanner Premium www.scannerdanner.com/join-sc... There is a 14 day free trial.
On ScannerDanner Premium I will bring you right into my classroom at Rosedale Technical College. You will find page for page lectures taken right from my book as well as exclusive classroom type case studies. What is so special about these classroom case studies? I pull live problem vehicles directly into my classroom and we troubleshoot them in real time, using and applying the theory and testing procedures we learn during the classroom lectures. There is no better on-line training of how to troubleshoot automotive electrical and electronics systems anywhere!

Awesome! No other words. I have voiced my displeasure for years about this stuff being taken out of schools. Auto shop, metal shop, wood shop and trades like that. We need more of this. The 4 year college degree has failed today's youth. This is a fine trade where a man can make an excellent living, if he applies himself. It's rocket science kids!!! ;)

Seeing Bo in the video makes me realize how long I have been watching your videos. Glad you guys had fun traveling and hopefully some of the kids are inspired. Good on South Dakota to get kids into trades instead of thinking everyone needs a college degree.

Form where I live, I can sit on my front deck and look south and see the badlands. If you look west you see the black hills. I appreciate you coming to our smallish town and doing something for for our kids. Thank you!

HEY Paul, if you are interested in teaching the BOY SCOUTS, they have an AUTOMOTIVE MERIT BADGE and the B.S. also has a small booklet that you would teach from. When I was teaching them in Japan, I gathered all the physical components and also used my car to let them get hands on every item taught in the booklet. Some teachings were on the car like removing a stuck on oil filter to changing a tire, etc. Some items were taught on the bench like hands-on components such as changing wiper blades for a few different types of blades, using a multimeter for resistance, volts, amps, and HZ as I brought a few test items that I built a very simple test board for pulling the battery out of my car for power. Since I had many junk shops around I could buy parts to test very cheaply like headlights and taillight ASSY for changing simple bulbs. Some items were simply to be held in their hot little hands that I had in stock like starter, alternator, clutch/pressure plate kit, timing/water pump kit to show where some real money can be made. I purchased the male/female stereo harness connectors and slip-over rubber protectors so they could use the crimping tool and splice some wires together, the list goes on and on but the book was the primary teaching guide, as you can imagine with jacking up the car and using jack stands, I DRILLED SAFETY into their heads every day to include electrical safety, and physical health safety such as breathing chemicals and brake dust, etc. I did fail one student for being late, not paying attention, not caring, etc. His father later came to talk to me, already knowing his son and just looked at him like, well, better luck next year, but maybe I was not there the next year and I was the only instructor they ever had in history, and I only did this for 2 years. thanks for all that you do Brother.

What a great opportunity for kids. I have thought about doing something like this. Currently I am involved in a rodeo bible camp. The kids spend the week learning a rodeo event, then they put on a rodeo on the last day, They get real nice buckles and all. I am the drummer in the worship team.
