What a gorgeous dress, it looks beautiful on you. Think I’ll have to purchase this pattern X

Gorgeous, Sarah. I am a 'retired' person who wants to take up sewing seriously and make some clothes for myself next year. You have inspired me to continue with this idea. Thank you. So far, I have got myself a new Janome (am going to ship my dear old one to daughter in London, all the way from Brisbane, Australia, to encourage her to try some sewing too!), and am going to collect some fabrics during my travels this year in Europe and India. Will check on your videos again and again before I embark on the projects but I am already learning a lot.

I'm so glad to hear it, and what a special way to repurpose your old sewing machine! I hope your travels to Europe and India go well. From your comment, your retirement plans sound lovely and I hope my retirement will be full of crafting and travel too some day!

Thankyou for sharing the make of your lovely dress! I really like this style of video (but also your other videos) and I’m glad you’re sewing intentionally and slow. Watching your videos is a bit meditative, very beautiful and relaxing 😍

Hello Sarah, thanks for sharing! It looks great on you. Especially since you shortened the straps and took in the waist 👏. At first, I was surprised you decided to make a sleeveless dress for a wedding in Belgium as it's getting quite chilly but it worked out great with the cardigan!

Hello Justine, thank you! I was also a but worried about being cold, but with the cardigan and layers underneath, it was fine! I was not alone too, I saw that many of the other guests were wearing the same with cardigans, jackets, or blazers 😊

The dress is so beautiful! You have a great taste for everything! You mentioned that you used viscose interfacing. Is it fusible or sew-in? 100% viscose interfacing? I LOVE the bunny! So cute! Thank you for the wonderful vlog, enjoying 100%!!
@Sarah_Naomi2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The interfacing I used is 100% polyester and fusible. I use it for all my stretch and viscose interfacing and it works so well! 😊

could you please do a short video or explain how you used the 4" shirring tape for the waistband? i THINK i could probably figure it out, but everything i found online for clothing is just normal shirring elastic or the iron on shirring tape for draperies. i'm assuming yours worked similarly to the drapery sort, but sewed in place. thanks for your video. it is a lovely dress.
@Sarah_Naomi2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I admit I'm not very familiar with shirring elastics, so I looked up the ones you mentioned! I didn't even know iron-on shirring tape existed! I used a normal 4 cm wide shirring elastic and sewed it into the waistband just like a regular elastic, no special techniques necessary! I hope that helps 😊

Your dress is so lovely, thank you for the video! I am interested to know which pocket you used, and whether you might have an idea of how to describe the differences between the two pocket options? I just purchased the pattern and am wondering which pocket option you think might work best with a flowy and delicate fabric like the fabric you used for the dress in this video. Thank you again! :)
@Sarah_Naomi2 ай бұрын
I'm glad you liked it! I made this version with the inseam pocket option and no topstitching. I would recommend sewing these pockets without the topstitching for a flowy fabric because it would be very difficult to accurately topstitch a delicate, slippery fabric and the final effects would be obscured by the way the fabric hangs anyways. I hope this helps!
@itsclurg2 ай бұрын
@@Sarah_Naomi Yes, that is super helpful, thank you! I didn't realize one option was topstitched to the front pieces. Thank you again! :)
