Very helpful. Thank you. After Ingram rejected my hardcover a number of times, this was refreshing to watch.

I got my hardback finally through ingramspark but for some reason the gutter has white lines and my spreads don’t connect. Isnt my manuscript the same size for both paperback and hardback?
@globalselfpublishing10 ай бұрын
No, the sizes are different.

@@globalselfpublishing first thank you very much! Love your videos. do you know where I can find those sizes? I feel like I have looked everywhere. If my trim size is 8.5 X 8.5 my paperback manuscript with bleed was 8.625 x 8.75, but for hardback?

If you use BookBolt it creates all the hardback dimensions for you and saves it in the correct format. That's the best way to ensure you meet the specifications. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZCzYXigZtqNr5I

thank you so much! for an IngramSpark paperback cover, do you still add the 1.5 inches to the height? and do you add it to the width of the front and back covers?
@globalselfpublishing Жыл бұрын
Yes, that's the best way to do it.

I like how you break the tutorial down so thanks for posting this up. One thing with the template though can you not get a png sent via IngramSparks rather than a pdf an having to then do all that faff to make it a png?
@globalselfpublishing3 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve found, I thinks it’s just a PDF? It doesn’t take me too long (a few mins) to turn into a png or jpg so I’ve just used that method. Appreciate your comments and post on this video. Thank you!

Hi Romney! Hardcover 1.5 inch. For paperback, how many inches to add?
@globalselfpublishing Жыл бұрын
0.12" and 0.25". As an example, if I had an 8.5 x 8.5 inch book, the manuscript size would be 8.62" x 8.75"
@DoyaliZingaro Жыл бұрын
@@globalselfpublishingah! so for that size of paperback, it would be 8.62 + 8.62 + spine width for the width, and 8.75 for the height?
@WizArt85 Жыл бұрын
How did you determine the height because I am confused by that my book is 7.5”x9.25 my template number is 17.136 but idk the other 😢 ugh this is so confusing

I'm having the hardest time getting my template approved, can I email you or could you email?

The easiest way would be to send a question on the Udemy platform if you're doing my IngramSpark Course. That way I can specifically find out what challenges you're having as the course provides all the necessary steps to get your books formatted the right way. bit.ly/3oDO2hk
