I love both those books. I prefer crochet to knitting but as my mum was a knitter I've grown up with lots of knitted items.

Hi Emma, the two other books in the series by the same author are The art of felt, and The art of embroidery, both are very beautiful.

I love your videos Emma and hope for a speedy recovery for you. As someone who is immuno-compromised, I know what it is like to get a lot of colds. Parts of your video really resonated with me. I used to knit and can't do so now due to carpal tunnel issues which I have had operated on but still cannot knit for any reasonable length of time. Another thing with the knitting - quite a few years ago I got my Husband to buy me some Arran Wool whilst he was on a work trip to the UK. I knitted him an Aran pattern jumper which was the most complicated I have ever done. He thought it was too bit. So I pulled it apart and made the small size - you guessed it, too small this time. I said I am knot knitting this again so I gave it to my brother-in-law who it fitted perfectly. Also, you talking about what you did as a child. I used to look after my granddaughter one day per week and we used paint to make houses from cardboard boxes, with curtains, etc from scrap fabric. What she enjoyed the most was playing with toilet rolls and making them into people using fabric scraps and scrap wool We used to have a great time together just playing all day. Hope you feel better soon. xx

thanks for the wonderful story, and glad the jumper found a home in the end, after all your efforts! And how lovely to play like that with your granddaughter, we all forget to be children... and would do well to play with toilet rolls and imagination too! xx

Thanks for sharing another lovely book Emma, very inspiring photos ❤. I love texture too. I used to knit but rarely these days as mixed media has taken over! Looking forward to seeing your next creation and wishing you well from your clearing, or detoxing as I call it! xx

mixed media over knitting every time...wise woman! yes detoxing is a great way to describe the process thanks for that, not ill just clearing out my cupboards!! xx

They no longer make these embellisher machines in US or Canada. Wish they did. But its fun watching you.

aw Denise, sorry to hear that, it seems rather strange to stop making them, but I'm glad if you enjoy the videos anyway, lovely to have you here!

Well Emma , that Jan Dawson book is one I have been resisting for quite a while. As you were flicking through it I caved in and it will be arriving soon! I am in the process of thinning out my quilting magazines ,dressmaking patterns , etc as we are moving closer to family and the storage in my sewing space will be a lot smaller. It’s going to be a case of everything in our present house being looked at and if we don’t love it then it will be rehomed / chucked / charity shopped! But it feels quite freeing to be reducing stuff. Don’t think I will be as successful with my fabric although I have given quite a bit to schools and Brownies. Hope you are feeling better soon, take care. ❤

ooo Claire, so pleased to hear about Jan's book arriving soon, I can feel the excitement! It's a lovely book and so inspiring. Well done on the down-sizing, I've found it very liberating over the last few years, made me really focus...but you do still need some fabrics to make with!! Exciting to be moving, hope it all goes well...fresh new start! xx
