Cornel West is as incisive and relevant as ever - a progressive voice that I can long identify with. I met him in London circa 1985 when he stayed at the Wandsworth Manse where my family and I boarded for a while with our Methodist friend, Hewie Andrew. He, Hewie and I drove to a Sunday church service where he delivered a powerful message. I was visiting for the weekend from Leicester where I studied. Hewie subsequently visited us in Jamaica. Need I say again that I've had an ear for the philosopher-activist (and a number of other aligned progressive voices) over the years. He echoes beyond US borders. - Paul E. Martin, Kingston, JA.

Especially Arabic because I know some progressive people in Gaza and the Arab Peninsula who are anti-imperialist but have a hard time selling progressive points because those are considered (Westerrn) imperialist in nature. What is the source of my enduring joy?...I recently came face to face with it...My source of joy is being a source of unconditional maternal love, holding space for people allowing them to find their power and stitch together their shattered souls... or allowing a child to discover their inner strength...or finding the options that allow an individual to tare down the walls that imprison them....there is no greater joy then watching the butterfly dry its wings and fly away....It is not in the thanks, it is not about earning points...It is a pure joy, a reaffirmation of the oneness of humanity, I get so much and give so little because giving love grows love it does not diminish it...in the end I feel more that I owe them a dept, a dept I can only repay by my undying faith in them even as I know I will never see them again....that is my enduring joy...without wich my fleeting comforts would turn to ash in my mouth...
