No one can deny that the emotions in the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin on top of the volcano were there. It was amazing when I saw it.
@existenceisrelative11 жыл бұрын
There were some vaguely emotional bits in there. But since it was stretched out over twenty minutes of lightsaber-whacking, it's not quite as memorable.

@JazGalaxy10 жыл бұрын
existenceisrelative Really? I seriously teared up when Obi Wan is like "YOU WERE LIKE A BROTHER TO ME!!". I LOVED the 3rd film. It wasn't perfect, but I really dug the story they were trying to tell and I thought they pulled off the emotional moments incredibly well. Whether Lucas really achieved it, or I simply give him credit because I want to like it, I really enjoyed how it truly felt like Anakin was slipping into madness. When something horrific happens, or you stay up too long and start running on fumes, you start to feel like nothing is real and everything becomes dream-like. I really felt like Anakin's slipping into his Vader persona in one night was a stroke of brilliance because I wouldn't have bought a slow transition. It really felt like they orchestrated events perfectly by having Anakin indirectly kill Windu by not helping him with Palpatine. I really bought that it was the kind of decision one could make in a split second, but that, once you think about it, peels back the layers of reality by having to come to terms with what just happened. Then he has to come to terms with the fact that his mentor, the one he thought was the ultimate good-guy is really the ultimate evil. But he's being told that evil is really good. Then he's further pushed over the edge by murdering the children, something he has already done with the Sandpeople. At that point he's just a complete nutcase and it felt earned. Man, now I want to watch that again.

Not too audible, sorta a whisper...I almost died I was so scared. My brain couldn't function...I figured someone was watching me watch youtube... He didn't ruin your childhood, remember that he's just showing you something that you can watch with your kids and then fresh batch of movies all new trilogy for the new generation before I say so on and the process repeats itself. They are all different movies with unique settings and travel across tons of planets and environments and seeing other worlds in new and exciting ways. You can show your kids your old pre special edition vhs original trilogy before bringing them to see the new ones cuz they're so timeless and the physical practical fx that go hands on don't end up looking corny by future generations looking back on it cuz they had the best team with years of experience from long before they started filming a new hope. George Lucas is a man who believed in a dream and put it on film and that's what Kevin Smith is as well. Thank you

Funny thing, Jay and Silent Bob are basically copies of R2 and C-3PO thematically. R2 and C-3PO are copies of a pair of slaves in a Japanese movie, the Hidden Fortress by Akira Kurosawa, which also forms the basis for most of IV: A New Hope. Toshiro Mifune was even supposed to play Obi-Wan originally, as Obi-Wan is based on his character from The Hidden Fortress, the General. Funny he goes to Japan and the reporter connects things.
