kevin smith has this unbelievable way of telling stories...i generally can't stand people who go on and on and don't let the other person get a word in...because usually it's boring...but every story kevin tells is so interesting and profound.

That's because THAT is what Kevin is on this planet to do -- his gift, it's why it is worth spending 30 bucks to sit in the audience at ANY of his "spoken word" tour appearances. The man can tell an incredibly long story that is the entire time TOTALLY engaging, totally relateable, and takes you on a ride. How he described the stuff at the end about family and kids, WOW, I am re-watching right after it finished. And I thought his story about making the Prince documentary was utterly fascinating, THIS kicked its ass.

The fact that Strombo can establish trust with interesting people and get them to open up and tell their stories in a genuine and heartfelt way, and be recorded uninterrupted for posterity, makes he himself a celebrity. I hope he can keep his ego in check, and not become Americanized or commercialized (practically the same thing).

I almost wish there was a church of Kevin Smith,I know that sounds grandiose but I really live this guys work and I have since the beginning. It's corny and I've never met him but I really feel like he's been there for me through all these years. Some people say he's overrated but I think it's the complete opposite. And something that makes him even cool is that he would be one of the most vocal of the people saying he is overrated. I can't not love someone like that. I may be thin but he speaks to my inner fat man hahaha
@ghostwhiskey
@ghostwhiskey 10 жыл бұрын
You leave comments and then forget about them,sometimes they come back if someone leaves a reply or approves/disapproves. There are many times when that happens and I think I dont even believe whatever it was anymore or I realize I was just wrong. In this instance with the "Church of Kevin Smith" comment I fully stand by it and I believe it even more now,even with the typos(for the record I meant love not live,but that's true as well). Tusk and Clerks 3 cant come soon enough,although it's sad since it will mark his retirement. I dont really believe he's gonna quit since after those two and Hit Somebody he's also got a Krampus movie in the works. As long as they keep podding I dont think there will be a shortage of ideas. Thanks so much for everything Kevin(I know he isnt seeing this but still) and have a week everyone. Id feel like such a fanboy loser if that wasnt so encouraged,so again thanks.

+Hagar TheHonorable he wouldn't agree that his movies are better ? Maybe he wouldn't I don't know. I watched Clerks 1 & 2 again last weekend and it makes me see again how a small budget movie can stamp over anything else I see. They have more humanity about them. Talking about life , love , movies. Just shit that we do everyday. They are classics. As is Dogma and many others

@VinylSamuraisMusic
@VinylSamuraisMusic 8 жыл бұрын
+Hagar TheHonorable you know I think he sometimes says those things between sarcasm and modesty. He does not praise himself yeah I hear that man. For me I would sit down and watch a 3 hour finally of Clerks quite happily and go to the movies again to watch the trilogy. Watch Clerks 2 again bro and monitor Jay. After watching the live stand up shows and stories of on set antics and his addictions etc. It makes you see things differently again. I find those movies very personal to the group of actors in them. They should be held in high regard I feel. I mean the scenes of racism etc are borderline outstanding cinema as he really is so naive that he don't grasp it. It's genius and covers everything. Rosario Dawson was added magic. I was so fucking in love with her. That look he gives her on the roof when she was dancing That shit there is real. That's capturing a full grown man look like a little kid over a lady. That's the magic Mr Smith can bring to cinema.

I take strength from the fact of the resurrection. Once I understood what the Biblical afterlife expectation really is, it all clicked together. The kingdom of God on earth is already underway, as is the resurrection of the dead, of which the resurrection of Jesus is the first. We may not all see each other again, because the wicked will have no share in the kingdom, but we know how we will live again, and where, and we will be ourselves not only at our best, but perfected.

+Paul Corcoran You don't seem happy. Where does "Fuck you" come from? What's that about?
@paulcorcoran2992
@paulcorcoran2992 8 жыл бұрын
I apologise for swearing at you, but I maintain that I'm happy as shit. I'm happy that I don't live in constant fear of wraith from a vengeful and bipolar God who oftentimes orders, compels or flat out commands otherwise moral people to do horribly immoral and evil things at His omnipotent behest. I'm happy that I'm free. I'm happy that I don't answer to a God with the personality of a three year old throwing a supermarket tantrum. I'm happy, are you?
@patrickholt2270
@patrickholt2270 8 жыл бұрын
+Paul Corcoran I don't buy it. People who are happy don't sound like you. To begin with, happy people are more tolerant. You believe in a totally false depiction of other people's faith that fills you with hatred towards people you don't know or understand, and towards faiths that you you are ignorant of the actual content of. I understand that hatred can be perversely comforting, stroking the ego to make people feel like they are superior to someone else, but it isn't compatible with happiness. Also, your protestation of being free rings hollow as well. You seem pretty compulsive to me, otherwise you wouldn't have had to attack me for existing. No-one answers to the kind of personality you believe God to have, because no-one who worships God experiences such a personality. We are not conditioned by such a personality, no matter how strongly you may feel such a personality to exist, because that is not the personality attested to in scripture. So, even if that was the reality behind reality, it still wouldn't be what we actually believe in and seek to emulate and serve, which is the personality revealed in Jesus.
