Hey Tillie I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery ! I’m 17 and I have had 5 surgeries on my hip I freaked out on my first surgery like you did as I was 7 and really didn’t want to have it done, I had a epidural for my last 3 surgeries and it helped it was just hard as I really wanted to get out of bed , I hated looking at my scar so badly but I them realised it shows just how brave I was for going through the surgeries , your such a brave little girl to go through all of this Tillie but we are all so proud of you! Hey Noel and Sue I highly recommend if Tillie is going to be on crutches to buy her some bike gloves with gel padding in it helped my hands not be sore as they can give you blisters on your hands, also Tillie is being such a champ throughout all of this! Tillie just remember your strong and as soon as you know it you’ll be back to normal! Once the epidural out you will feel so much better. Don’t worry about the frame it will show people that you’ve been through something that may have been hard but you’ve come back even stronger and people will see that ! We’re all here for you Tillie Wish you all the best radfords Leah 😊 Ps another thing I just remembered , if Tillie has a favourite drink or something she drinks a lot of I recommend buying it for her once she gets home as you know she will be getting fluid , for me it was apple juice o drank a lot of it and it helped to keep my hydrated as it was the only thing I would drink , and helped to flush the rest of the anaesthetic out of my body, I hope this helps! Leah_Emily 35 I have a birth defect where my hips aren’t sitting in the sockets properly. So they have to break my femur and twist my hip and pin it back together but have had complications! X

Tillie is a champion and so are you and Noel! She's developing coping skills through this adversity as difficult as it is for her right now. My oldest daughter (who is now 38) fell on some ice on a vacation to Colorado (we lived in Florida) and broke her back when she was Tillie's age. Two months in hospital and a year of physical therapy. My late husband had to get our other children back home and back to school while I stayed in Denver with my daughter of course Fortunately I am a teacher and was able to homeschool her through most of her third grade year so she didn't have to repeat a grade. It is so hard for parents to see your child emotionally depressed and/or in pain. It just breaks your heart! But look at the long run and know that what you are doing now will make all the difference in her future! Prayers for all of you going up!!!!

Poor sweet girl! I was wondering if Tillie has had steroids? That makes some people really depressed, and with the anesthesia that would be even worse. At least she has caring parents to be with her and spoil her which is the best medicine of all. The little Faierie Garden should help too. I’m an adult and now I want one. 🥰

Bless Tillie, I hope she's feeling more cheery soon. I just read the comment below about the anaesthetic making her a bit depressed, because I remember feeling like that after surgery too. Although I was 30 when I had a spinal operation done, I struggled with the psychological side of it and even I didn't want to look at the scar I had, so she's being super brave!!
