I had a gap of 15 years from model railways so I had to bring back into operation trains that had not run for years. For this Lima are the best as you can oil all the gears without even removing the body. For maintainability they are the best.
@SamsTrains6 жыл бұрын
That's very true actually - the Lima models are quite nice and easy to maintain! :D Cheers, Sam :)

That's a nice 66 - always like them best in Freightliner colours. Appropriate rolling stock would be container wagons or Freightliner/EWS bogie coal hoppers - some you can get in graffiti livery !

Codfish my preferred era is 1970-1990' but I do have a few modern locos , maybe one day I will get a 66'
@welshfurrygaming697 жыл бұрын
The freightliner 66s can be used with ex railtrack, EWS/EW&S or loadhaul open wagons, ship Container wagons ie 60ft wagons with 3 20ft containers or 1 20ft & 1 40ft, stobart/ex drs rail containers, PCA cement tank wagons various liveries & car transporter wagons of course! LOL, Hattons have some dapol wagons IOA/JNA ballast wagons as well that go with it, also there are new wagons by dapol on the way if they aren't already out!
@SamsTrains7 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, many thanks for that - I'll have a dig and see if I can find anything more suitable! Thanks for watching, Sam :)

The Freightliner class 66 would look good hauling some 100 tonne HHA bogie hopper wagons in Freightliner Heavy Haul livery made by Bachmann, part number 38-030B-LN05. However, adding quite a few would get expensive.

One well-known fact: The 66's top headlight is separately fitted at they used the class 59/1 tooling with a couple of modifications. One little-known fact: The 59 and 66 fleets have an overhang above the cab front because the designer apparently liked the lip above the class 52 'Western' fleet's cab front.
@SamsTrains7 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I didn't know either of those facts actually - thanks very much for those! Cheers mate, Sam :)
@al66class597 жыл бұрын
Not hard to see the light's separate, its a different colour to the loco entirely. Maybe there are small protruding bits where the light was removed from a sprue.
@al66class597 жыл бұрын
And something I forgot: The model does not have a 66 cab. The 'tower' with the power handle in the centre of the cab, as seen in Bachmann's 66 cab, is not present aboard the Lima Class 66.

Generally class 66s can have passenger trains on them, whether its a drag, on the back of a steam engine or even on its own tour, for example a few weeks ago there was an *EXTREMELY RARE* railtour coming through on my local line (Its a test track so we mainly see the Network Rail Rail Grinding train) sadly I was at school when it came through which wasn't great but I still got a video Cheers, Ed

Which is fine, for i'm a steam guy my self, but have you considdering using diesel sounds for the diesel related videos. this is mearly a suggestion really. cheers, Nick.
@SamsTrains6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that Nick, duly noted! You are right - that's just my standard intro though, it's the same for every video - I don't really do enough diesel videos to justify making a separate one for them, but I definitely see what you're saying! Thanks for watching - Sam :)

The "Green Banana", at least that''s how our "chaty" train-magazine called it. These old one bogie drivers can be so annoying, the main reason I upgrade them into double motored, if I can.
@SamsTrains7 жыл бұрын
haha really?! Yeah that's pretty accurate, lol! ;D Yeah they can cause issues - but I'm more than happy with this one! Cheers mate, Sam :)

Im not a big fan of the more modern Diesels I like more the Vintage ones like the Class 40 ,08 ,37 and 23 Curious Fact:There are many projects for rebuilding Steam engines but i found a project for Rebuilding a Diesel The project is a Brande new BR Class 22 known as the Baby Warships,the Other projects are Restore a Class 23 known as Baby Deltic who is in a very very damage condition and the other is the Restoration of the Only survivor of the Class 28

Is there's a reason why you stopped providing subtitles on your video and no longer inclusive for those who are Profoundly Deaf?
@SamsTrains5 жыл бұрын
Hi Edward, unfortunately I've never provided subtitles for any of my videos - occasionally other people are good enough to submit them for me, and I believe there is a way to auto-generate them. I create an awful lot of videos, and it'd be impossible for me to caption all of them - I am very sorry about that! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@edscoble5 жыл бұрын
@@SamsTrains Sam, you and I know auto generated subtitles are s pretty poor alternative, I challenge you to try and watch the video again in mute without the auto generated subtitles.
@SamsTrains5 жыл бұрын
Hi Edward, I agree, they aren’t that great, and I do apologise for that. I do want my videos to be as accessible as possible for everyone, so I’m happy to take your advice. But as a single person running the entire business, it just won’t be possible for me to caption everything I make :/
