Thanks man! Picked mine up 2 days ago and this is helping me think about rigging and what to expect first time out on it. I'll go paddle only for awhile, but thinking about a #30 trolling to help on large bodies on rough days.

I just picked one up about an hour ago. I already know that I’m gonna be needing a trolling motor on it. And batteries and all the rest will be purchased next month. Such is life on a budget!

Thanks for the video. This kayak would be okay if you're not in a hurry. Just barely a paddler. After watching a lot of videos on big man kayaks, 12 ft is the size I'm going to buy.

It all depends on your physical ability. It is 94-98 lbs bare bones. I have done it but recently got a bed extender for my truck to make my life a lot easier.

@@wolfeoutdoors8240 I can't decide what to buy ..basic requirements for a kayak - independent , transportation alone, stability on the water...and the choice is between Ascend 128X, Ascend 12T, Pelican 120 Catch at the same time, I'm not a little boy, about 220 lb and a height of 5'11 "))))) Thank you!

All of these kayaks will do but I believe the ascend 128x has the most weight capacity and has the most stability because of the hull configuration. By the way, your the same size as me.

I just looked at the pelican. It’s a two piece kayak. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are planning to use it long term. I know several people that have had problems with separation issues.

I was actually looking at getting this kayak before I got the 128x. The ascend is over 2 foot longer and just serves my purpose better. I would love to get the swivel seat that the pelican comes with.

How was it to stand and fish? Stability wise is it comfortable to stand

It is something you have to get used too. I’m 235 so when I shift from side to side the kayak really reacts.
