I have this kayak paired with a nk300 i have no water build up in the back. Yes it is warped like urs but mine is kept in the garage so unless i go out on a rainy day i have not had those issues while being paired with the nk300 i run my battery box in the front me in the middle and motor in the back so i think its fair to say this kayak just needs to be properly balanced i will be upgrading to the bonafide xtr 130 in the near future when/if this gives out but its a ok kayak for me

you know how it is people love their stuff, I think it has so many shortcomings you can do better with $1,000 but if you aren't afraid of diy and you buy for cheap used, could be a good deal.

I’ve been kayak fishing in SoCal for many years, off the coast and in the harbors. In regards to the seat locks and rust it looks to me like this is designed as a freshwater lake bass fishing kayak. You didn’t show the hull but the side view looks like it’s kind of a scaled down John boat. It’s using the width for stability but has no rockers and probably no secondary stability. I wouldn’t ever take that thing on open water. But again it looks like a lake kayak only. As for the water retention in the back, looks like poor design or QC. I’ll be retiring in a couple of years and moving to florida or Texas. Love your channel.

Can you do an honest review of the Autoboat GPS system? And how it compares to the high end trolling motors like the Xi3 etc. Pros and cons, if it's as smooth, as responsive. Noise levels etc. thank you!

autopilot in 2025! haha I should do that anyways the mk unit on the ap is way better than the xi3 in most aspects except speed. better spot lock, better remote control, better safety features, motor won't turn on unless kill switch is on and all, motor is also more protected since it is in the middle of the boat, mk makes better overall trolling motors than motor guide

@@AliexFolgueira Yes, you can do that as well, but compare the Autoboat GPS to the Autopilot and Xi3. The $650 Autoboat that turns the Endura to a GPS trolling motor.

Iv seen your reviews you pretty much said it's bad not worth buying I keep looking back to that old platform due to a vision that keeps recurring and its kinda cheep specially used I might just gut the thing and make it a tow behind with a pot puller add lids live bait wells and live well or catch bay trow some ice in one and keep beer and pop lunch cold 🥶 I'd definitely plug the holes and add like a bass deck front and rear ryno lined lids watter is no longer a issue front stability is a issue side to side also is a issue iv found couple cheep ways to overcome that as well if bass pro still produces that model could easily offer resonably priced plug and play options front and back bass decks be cheap to build once it's front back side to side stable could be a cool little boat gots to have vision and out think the problems lol iv been right close to poor most my life making a way where there seems to be no way just something iv had to do

It does seem like the opinion on this kayak ruined the rep for the whole brand. Just sold my 12T which is a decent kayak for the price minus the weight but the kayak fishing community hated it and kept telling me it’s garbage. I just bought a bonafide sfk cause it fits me better.

Can you describe how you felt when you opened up your skiff? How does the workmanship of the Bonafide compare to the Ascend?

@@AliexFolgueira giving a full breakdown on my kayak career I went from a lifetime Teton to the acend 12T. I did notice a massive jump in quality between the two the Teton was good and paddled well but felt more like a toy. The 12T was a real fishing vessel I was able to stand and fish confidently which is big as a fly fisherman. The big drawback I saw was the weight. It was very heavy which made it rough to take out alone. There were also some issues with the materials like the seat you mentioned here I saw the same rusting on a boat I know for a fact was made right before I bought it. The main reason I made the switch was so that I could have a yak I could put a motor specifically the NT300 which I would be able to easily use on my other watercraft. When I actually got the SKF on the water it really did open my eyes to how good a kayak could be. Real thought went into the design and it really did fix all the issues I had. It is lighter, easier to carry, easier to transport, more stable, drains perfectly, and is even more comfortable than what I thought possible on a kayak. Plus there is a real community behind the brand even for me locally and that is super nice to see how people are using their boats. Breaking it down into number ratings. Lifetime Teton - 6/10. Ascend 12T - 7/10. Bonafide SKF - 9/10.

@@bChipps thank you! I sorta have the same awaking process when I went from A lifetime Kayak to a Nucanoe Frontier 12 to and Native Watercraft slayer in 2015 the slayer felt like what a real kayak could be. Interesting process ah?

In my opinion, this is a HORRENDOUS value... If you are spending over $1,000?!?! You should NOT be getting a piece of $hi&!!!
