I'm mostly outside about these days, I see a lot of people in their 50's and 60's suffering, very weak in general to walk and move, they should be in their 80's to be like that or are people aging faster.

Thank you for this. I decided a while back that I'm going to school for nursing. Even though I hear how hard it can be and how you can get burnt out, I'm still gonna pursue it. Im a bit of masochist anyways lol. And I I will figure it out when I get there but after nursing I think I wanna pursue a higher degree. Possibly medical school, or maybe nurse practitioner. Idk about that yet but Im determined at this point. Again thank you, appreciate the video.

If you’re considering med school make sure you take med school prereqs on top of your nursing classes! I wish I would’ve done this as a nursing student ! And lol it seems all healthcare workers have a bit of Stockholm syndrome haha

But yeah I’m planning to go nurse practitioner school!

@@JayFriedrichsyou said you wish you took pre reqs for medicine. Do you think you would have pursued medical school? Also why do you prefer NP over CRNA?
@JayFriedrichs6 ай бұрын
@@jaysonemile6633 probably instead of being a nurse and just go straight through. For NP vs CRNA: they are totally different fields. Gotta know what type of person you are. I really don’t have any interest in CRNA type of work. I wanna see patients diagnose and treat. I don’t wanna sit in an operating room

@@JayFriedrichs makes sense. I just finished my 1st year of nursing school. Still waiting to see if I passed my classes. But I am considering the PA route.

This video is literally for me lol. Idk what to do man ive been battling myself for awhile now whether i want to do medicine or not. The biggest thing holding me back is the patient's. I hear all these horror stories and it keeps me away from wanting to do it. And it might be confirmation bias but its still a big concern. I want to help people but i dont want to deal with the bs. I feel like back in the day people had some respect for healthcare workers and now its like theyre servents to the public

Personally I've experienced way more decent or even kind patients vs. The bad ones, they aren't super common. I think it's also your approach as the healthcare worker.
@Dan_Capone2 ай бұрын
It's all about your attitude. I work in a military hospital but we also have civilian patients, and all the nurses are also military personnel so they have this really straight demeanor with the patients and there's never any BS. Nursing has been traditionally a women's job, and they've cultivated this image of being really kind and soft, and while you can be kind, there's no reason to take any abuse.

I am a bit confused. Are you now a medical student? I live in UK and I am a nurse and I would never say that I do medicine, but nursing.
@JayFriedrichs8 ай бұрын
I’m just using the term medicine as a collective term for working in medicine/nursing -as in healthcare workers and healthcare teams in general.
