It was a bit worrying about the electrics but it was my own fault. I just needed to take more care. It was such a beautiful town and there were quite a few along that road. Shame about the rain but we did have e a wonderful trip Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for watching as always. 👍👍

Hey Sue and Dave what a great park up. Wow weathers crazy! But look at that beautiful castle! Great little town. We had electrical issues so spoke to someone who is going to upgrade our electrics as can't get a powerbank sent in time before we leave for Rotterdam Shows how much we rely on electric! When we plugged it into the van it gave us more power than than the EHU. Good that you’re getting one sent in guys. I just don’t really understand the vans electrics so I need to learn quick 😃

Despite the rain, Dinkelsbuhl looks lovely. I especially liked the photos of the buildings in the rain, especially the colourful boots. Good thing the Ecoflow was there to help you through the night. Traveling in a camper definitely has its unique chellenges! Oops, lessons learned and I think I would have pretended nothing went wrong. 😅 Great vlog you two!

🤣🤣🤣. Thanks Donna. Yes Dinkelsbuhl is really beautiful but in that weather we just couldn’t wait to get back to the van!! The electric points were the most confusing we faced. Each one was numbered 1 to 8. Why they couldn’t have numbered them 1 to 24 is anybody’s guess 🤣. So we paid for someone else as someone else had paid for us 😃. Thanks for watching - we really did have such a fun trip!!

I can fully understand your frustration with that weather! Everywhere looked lovely even in the rain ...... imagine what it would have been like if the sun was shining! Easy mistake to make with the electricity payment - we'll learn from your mistakes next year!

Thanks Robin Very kind of you. Yes a silly mistake to make - most stellplatzs we visited were fairly easy to work out but this one had the same unit numbers on different pay stations. So if there were 25 pitches, each pay station would have 1-25 numbered. This one had three, each numbered 1-7 so it was easy to pay for someone else’s - that’s my excuse anyway 😃 We did really love Germany. Bavaria was so beautiful and the Romantic Road towns and villages very pretty. But the weather was a real downer so by the end of a week of rain it was time to find somewhere dry! And the Black Forest was wonderful. We loved this European trip - we’re going to try and exit a video of everything that we learned - which was a lot by the time we got back! 😃 Have a lovely Sunday and hope to see you at the Show 👍👍

What strange weather we’ve had this year , incredible really. It looked a lovely place though very much like Rothenburg. Having a power bank is essential isn’t it . Mistakes happen mate , it’s how we learn , it’s an endless process and we’re still learning every trip. Your candour will save someone else doing the same, so good for you. Hope to see you soon . Hi Martin. Yes the weather we had was dreadful for about a week before then. So we weren’t really feeling the Romantic Road, even though it’s very pretty. 😃 We changed our route and returned to the Black Forest Honestly, what a stupid mistake. I think the problem was that each pay station was numbered one to seven and I picked the wrong one 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. But the Power Bank was great as a back up temporarily. We had an absolute blast on our trip - loved every second and can’t wait to go back. Hope the Show goes well for you guys. 👍👍.

Looked a beautiful town Chris but most places were closed which was a shame. We just got sick of the rain and so the Romantic Road didn’t do it for us - which is why we moved on. I couldn’t work out why the pay stations weren’t numbered sequentially. Both of them were numbered the same - they must make a fair bit from idiots like me 😃

Certainly have had to change many a plan due to weather...sometimes you just have to go for it no matter what and make the best of it. Nice to have the Ecoflow for backup...but I'd be seriously lost with trying to pay for electric separate...all included in the price here. You've found your twit twin in me my friend!! It’s the same in the UK as you have Bruce. But in Germany, electric was paid for separately which I suppose is fine as some don’t need the hook up. Those pay stations totally confused me Bruce 😃😃🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ We did think that the “Romantic Road” was beautiful, but we just couldn’t stand another day of rain so moved West, which proved to be a good move as we really enjoyed the Black Forest. Lovely town Dave,would look even better on a sunny day :) I love that architecture - so much was lost during WW2. A bit of an adventure with the power supply - easily done I'm sure when it's pouring with rain. You're very adventurous going around Europe at this time of year :) I've been very busy with various things (inc a puppy called Dorothy) so not so much time for vids lately. Catching up now. Oh wow. Hope Dorothy is t causing too much trouble Rob. 😃 Yes we had a blast in Europe. Met so many fascinating people and visited some wonderful locations. Like you, now we’re back we’re just trying to catch up with everything. It’s crazy how much there is to do after a long trip away 🤦🏻‍♂️ The Romantic Road Towns were very beautiful although the weather was bad for a week! But I think we loved the Black Forest the most on our trip. Austria was jaw dropping, Alsace was stunning but the Black Forest drew us in and we fell in love! Now I can see why you love the New Forest so much mate.

Thanks David. Yes a really stupid error - I was suspecting foul play - all sorts!! 😃. Germany was a real surprise. We were looking forward to France and Austria and were planning to pass through Germany on the way. But it was my favourite - so many great stellplatzs and all so clean everywhere. And so many friendly and helpful people on the sites whenever we got stuck. The Romantic Road was very pretty but the persistent weather put us off and so we moved across to the Black Forest. We met a couple of Brits, who had travelled Europe for 30 years who said East Germany was their very favourite place. So we may just try that next time. This weekend you will not have any problems with confusing the payment stations and it is unlikely that you ever will make that mistake again, but the dreadful weather did play its part in making you confused! So a good thing you had the Ecoflow and were able to make it through the night, but of course it is annoying. As for Dinkelsbuhl the name sounds like something an American show would use for a German town as a joke, but it is real and would probably have been a lot better in sunshine:) Hope you are enjoying the weekend in England and that things are cheerful! And yes I know what you mean about Dinkelsbuhl. - it was very pretty but all closed up in that rain which was a shame! We have learned something new every trip - and here again!! Each pay station was numbered from 1 to 7. So it was confusing. So someone paid for some of our electric and we paid a lot for someone else’s 😃😃. We thought that the “Romantic Road” was really pretty but we just cut our losses with the weather and moved across to the Black Forest which was amazing. Have a great Sunday in the North Ant 👍👍

Well, despite the weather, it was a beautiful place, but sure wish you had better weather to properly enjoy this place. Dave, we’ve all, “been there and done that,” … not exactly the same thing, but things similar or even more silly. I had some choice words for myself with each silly and often idiotic, thing I’ve done while traveling. In the future, it will become a topic of laughter in conversations to share. I do pray the weather improves for you guys at your next destination. I’m very much looking forward to seeing your video. This trip may have been a washout, but it was still an adventure. Thanks George The whole trip has been such an adventure and we have learned so much about travelling in a Motorhome in Europe. We've met so many friendly and helpful people along the way. And sometimes things have gone wrong, and we've learned from this too. So I won't be making that mistake again 😃 But at least someone had paid for a bit of our electric and we ended up paying a lot for someone else's!! The weather did improve - we had five days of warm Autumnal sun and the Black Forest was wonderful. You will be interested in the bear and wolf park that we visited. A refuge for animals that have ben mis treated by humans and now can live in a semi wild setting. I think I am going to add that on a separate video as it was such a special place. 😃😃. No it won’t be. We’re still learning every time we go out. It was just so wet though. But that was the last bad weather we had on the trip. We moved West on to the Black Forest (where we had already spent two nights a couple of weeks before) it’s an absolutely stunning area there - and we will definitely go back!! The electric tripped during the night on one of the sites during our recent trip to France (equally awful weather btw!) We had just been talking about the importance of turning all three gas outlets on even on EHU so that the fridge would go to gas automatically if needed so that worked. And then we discussed how we would utilise the EcoFlow so great to see it works! Could you let me know where you got your screen cover please? Take care Katherine

Hi Katherine. Now that is a good point. We never use the Automatic function on the fridge. No idea why to be honest apart from not knowing exactly what power source we are using. We always manually switch to 12v when starting off from anywhere. But good idea on using the Auto function. We wouldn’t have had the fridge contents at risk if we had been using it. The Ecoflow is great - we plug it in to the EHu (via the window) and it operates exactly the same as the EHU, so all the 240v sockets work off grid. A big mistake on my part but it’s all a learning experience isn’t it 😃 We bought the screen cover from Prima Leasure. It doesn’t cover right across the gap between the windscreen and the bonnet - which the Taylor Made screen apparently does. That one certainly gets a good press on the Adamo FB group 👍 Have a great week 👍👍
