[7.0] Time for Picto! Its seriously my new favorite Caster to play. It does stupid damage, has a really fun kit, and is just satisfying to play. Highly suggest trying it out.

Another little fun fact I discovered by mistake: Swiftcast works for Motifs while in battle. It's great if you need some Hammer Time as quickly as possible.

Yeah since you have such a long cast/recast time you can triple weave inside. I like to use it to wing muse/Funny Moogle Death Cannon/hammer time

@@dbzteen31885 One good optimisation is that if you're going to be moving for more than 2 seconds, you'll want to swiftcast a motif. If you're in a state where you need to paint anyway and you're forced to move, this is a gain. For picto it's far more important to get casts off, than worrying about optimal damage output as if you can't paint and get your burst windows set up correctly, you'll fail art class.

@kubekzpiciem it's the same recast timer as if you had hardcasted the motif. So for anyone wondering, you do not "save" time with swiftcast. This is why you should try not to cast any motif during the burst window, to maximize damage.

Thus they set forth on a long and grueling path. If you play 8 hours a day it will take you about 2 months to catch up to the point of unlocking it. FFXIV I think is worth it, but still something to keep in mind lol...

I'm confused as to how to weave the canvases and normal spells, and do we leave our canvases blank if in the middle of battle (with no downtime)?

If no downtime or look away mechs in the fight, then either swiftcast or start casting when your Muse has 3-5 seconds left before it it's fully charged. Then you can combo chain your Motifs, muses and finishers.

Aside from blue mage, to my knowledge, picto is the first class to have an offensive water spell

thanks a lot for this, the skill descriptions can be a little daunting especially when jobs start at higher levels so a nice and simple explanation like this is very welcome. considering by the devs' own admission jobs with utility will need to do less dmg i am almost certain we're either getting other caster buffs or picto's damage will be lower when actual endgame comes around. Still looks like a fun job with plenty of variations and options, I'm gonna enjoy it a lot!

Based on my recent experience of a tank suddenly deciding to move the mobs after I'd already put down my starry circle, it seems you have to inside the circle when it ends to get the instacast rainbow drip.

Since Motifs are long cast, when do you recast them after usage?

You can do it whenever, just make sure not to cap the charges for creature/weapon

Swiftcast works for Motifs during fights, in case you need to quickly get a Motif up to immediately use.

The best times are when the boss is un-targetable (duh) or second best is when you have to turn away. Otherwise I try to cast it whenever and keep a white paint or two just in case for movement Edit: forgot to say don't recast during the starry night buff, that 3 second cast time is a massive damage loss during the damage window

Just at a glance, this definitely feels like a job that snowballs super hard. Which makes sense, since you're literally painting your rotation. It almost feels like a slower Red Mage with the potential damage of Black Mage.

I don't think picto has a rotation to begin with the entire kit is situational outside of your basic combo everything else is based on what situation your in Pictomancer actually requires thinking and strategy it's very easy to pick up and hard too master and sins every encounter is different I don't think picto has a set rotation
