Just gotta anticipate it tbh, it's definitely one of her bigger weaknesses. You could also for sure take the turret traverse mod if it affects you

I'll be coming up on enough with the coupon for my first steel ship in about a month. FDR or Meck were my highest picks, but this one is very interesting and have a 21 point Lutjens that would be ready to go. That AP does seem powerful, but the short smokes, while good for getting you out of jams, aren't great for farming any big boys unless in short bursts. Seems like a situational ship that you have your mental A game going all the time on when best to switch between AP and HE. Torps seem OK'ish. Big ship as well. Will still put the fear into Marceau, Elbing, and other top gunboat mains if they get spotted in the same cap as you, and that's what you want.

My opinion on Z-42 keeps flipping with everything I hear about her. The Elbing gun performance I literally did not know about because it’s communicated super poorly, but I was right about the ship basically riding or dying on it’s consumables. Guess it’s my next steel ship anyways since I’m not interested in FDR or Meck and don’t need Ragnar. Congrats on 1k subs by the way. Now I can be smug and say I was here pre-1k :kappa:

A bit of an off topic question but I have always noticed the torpedo launch areas have always been so bright and clear on video but mine are quite hard to see am I missing something?

Guns either work or they dont depending on RNG. mostly they do not. Exanple of last match i had a Shikashima broadside at 5.5km away half of my AP failed to penetrate prolonging the gun v gun fight much longer than the number would suggest. The z42 is bot worth the steel imho

My absolutely best devision is I get the Småland and my friend from my clan get vampire ii! So you get the crowding smoke and vampires hydro to defend the devision for torps and Smålands radar plas combination of 600.000+ HE dpm! Z42 will be good in devision with småland too! Nice dpm and too many smokes! Plus the best hydro on game in a dd! I still believe tho that if you don't have Ragnar, you must get Ragnar first even if you already have småland! Z42 get enormous nerf 3.1 to 4.5 base main battery sec fairing so start from 160.000 he dpm! AP dpm is good but your enemy must be flat broad to you so actually can work! Dds need good HE! As a main dd player after Ragnar I might get this ship next year! Z42 was really good before the nerfs now is I believe below average for the amount of steel you must invest to get her!
