Aquarius on the IC - hilarious but true! Not just the "wig" and "clothes" that are discarded, but the make-up, adornments, any tight or restrictive clothing, shoes, previous ideas and concerns, other peoples concerns and problems...replaced by a need to escape into a new happy carefree "space"

One thing I've noticed with Air I.C's (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) is that we have to "talk things out" to solve a problem whether its school or just trying to figure stuff or people out and often when they're by themselves.....or maybe that's just me??? (Aquarius I.C)

Do you have mercury there, near the IC also? I do in Aqua. When I'm stressed, confused (happens a lot) I'm extremely chatty. I literally think out loud. But only when there's someone else around. I have to keep from compulsively talking at certain times. Especially when I've smoked some ganja lol

I flung the question about the fourth house into the atmosphere a few days ago and here is a great interpretation of it! I like to work with keywords in astrology and I couldn't come up with a decent summary of the fourth, probably because it is relative to my native sign Cancer and I always find that our own personal charts are the hardest to read and best understood through other charts with related aspects, so that we are not too involved emotionally etc, more detached. I always found the abstract title for the 4th, "HOME", a little too vague, even by astrological standards, the same goes for the 11th house too with "FRIENDSHIP", which I reinterpreted to mean "INVOLVEMENT". As you can see, my inner world, that which we call the "home", the rules of my house, so to speak, are incredibly analytical and overbearingly busy - small wonder that Virgo occupies my I.C. and yes, I do eat lots of Muesli as of late.... "Rules of the home" - great idea Steve, thanks. ;)

That was great, but I didn't get what you said about Virgo in the last sentence - lots of what?... I have Virgo on the cusp but Libra is also intercepted in the fourth, I find myself spending a lot of time organizing and re-organizing, searching for the perfect atmosphere of harmony, peace and beauty in the home, and being a Cancer ascendant I love being home... Plus the Sun in Capricorn, with this combination I find myself also working from home... I find myself being both very nurturing and somewhat strict with the kids, I thought of it as a Cap thing, interesting now to learn it's the Virgo IC.

♐IC SO TRUE! (Especially with Jupiter & Uranus conjuct) My life is the definition of these themes. On top of Chiron conjunct MC... my soul exposed. If IC is the start of the fourth house, doesn't the ascendant and the degree of the ascendant determine IC? For example, anyone with an ascendant in the middle to late degrees of Sagittarius will likely have an Aries IC?

not always the ascendant will dictate the start of your 1st houses and the descendent/ 7th house. The Midheaven or M.C dictates the starting point of the I.C because its the exact opposite. In the placidus house system which is typical format for western astrology houses are not exactly 30 degrees like the signs. Asc/Desc,(1st/7th) 2nd/8th house, 3rd/9th house, I.C/M.C (4th/10th house) 5th/11th house as well as 6th/12th house. Hopefully that helps.

Sometimes, I think the IC can be a quite literal description of the characteristics of the 10th house ; the nature of the father, what he does ( which often informs the home). I have Scorpio/IC. My father was an Anglican priest in the High Church. :-> Like a true Scorpio...beyond his staid ecclesiasty, lay a true Bohemian. Having " God" in the fourth ? A trip. :-) The other planets in my fourth do a beauty job of illustrating the abstractions you might expect in things Scorpionic.

I'm Leo on the AC. My IC is quite literally populated by my parents Saturn and Mars . Scorp., Cap. We are exposed to WHAT we *need* to approach our dharma, i believe :-). There are no coincidences in any chart . All placements strategic. *mho* . ;-)

localcustom I don't think I believe in dharma..I know all about duty. I have an over-developed sense of duty. But I've always been more Protestant that Catholic. I like the concept of grace. I think we can all use more grace in our lives: something that lightens the load, something that doesn't have to be earned. I also like the Protestant idea of unconditional love. Human beings have a penchant for adding conditions to everything. I'll approve of you if you do this, or believe this, or look like this. It seems only right that there be some outside agent somewhere that can say, "I like you the way you are. You don't have to do anything or be anything or change anything."

Jan96106 I also totally agree with you. What goes on outside of you will never make you happy. Imo it is the 'conditioning' that makes people unhappy. From cradle to grave ( here in Denmark) you are expected to fit into predefined boxes. If you do not fit into the box the system (and the people) will use a hammer. Grace and unconditional love are not part of the human experience. Astrology is the key (imo) to understanding life on Earth and I am a firm believer of destiny, which the astro chart supports mho ;-) Dharma - "Practising Dharma is the supreme method for improving the quality of our human life.
