In this video I show a very effective way of mounting a flag to your bike. In the video I forgot to mention that I think the flag is more effective when straight up and you can mount more than one flag.

You Sir, are a genius! Had to retire my catrike (health issues) for an upright adult trike. With some modification was able to solidly attach the "flag pole holder" to my rear basket. Works perfectly! Thanks for posting...

Hi, Me being a scrapper, I have lots of different sized aluminum poles & such but, I gotta compliment you highly on your idea! I spend alot of time going thru places like Home Depot, Walmart & thrift shops looking for ideas for a current project or ones I haven't thot of yet 🤔. My grandpa always said to be creative, that everything was just an idea before it became something! I never forgot that. I'd rather make it than go buy someone else's creation as a rule. Bailing wire, duct tape & bubble gum, oh ya, & now Knitting Needles can fix anything. I'm sure you know you know what I mean. Anyway, I grew up around sewing machines, crochet hooks &, yep, you guessed it... Knitting Needles. Out of all my thinking, doing, making & adapting whatever for whatever , I never thot those big ol aluminum knitting needles were good for any purpose besides making ugly big holed sweaters until now. There's been many times that those would have been perfect for by needs. Anyway, this comment (letter) wasnt spose ta be about Sherrie adventures. It was meant to give you kudos fot the great video & the great idea. Happy adapting & thank you 😊

Just ran across your video. Thanks for sharing your idea. I’ve been doing something similar for years and never thought to share it. I use a piece of plastic tubing of the correct internal diameter and attach it to the seat back frame of my webbed seat. I put it on one of the uprights, usually the street side, using hose clamps. By putting it inside the webbing it is out of the way and out of sight. I use plastic tube because it drains any moisture, it doesn’t scratch the pole, and the pole doesn’t rattle. The tubing can be purchased by the foot from most hardware stores and you can cut it to length with heavy scissors or a box cutter. Before viewing your video, I never thought to use zip-ties. That would be easier than dealing with hose clamps. Again, thank you for posting. Best wishes.

Brilliant! I like the non-scratch and non-color properties of plastic tubing.

I have been wondering on how to make a easy flag mount for the flags on our trikes,, and you hit the head on the nail.... Thank you so much! I just went out and bout some Tee's the size I got was 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 and I'm just going to plug the one end and use tubing behind it and use zip ties to keep them on there ,,, thank you

Thank you for sharing your great idea, we are going to order some 9mm knitting needles from EBay, I will let you know how we get on. My husband and I are going to mount our flags with them on our recumbents, Rans Stratus XP, and Bacchetta Giro 20.

you ever have a really strong wind creep your flagpole out of the holder?
@bikeragopro45706 жыл бұрын
never, it’s inside the needle 8 to 10 inches.

How did you figure out that knitting needles are hollow inside? I didn't know.

Alley Irvine I actually read that in a bicycle magazine back in the 70s.
