He really knows what he’s doing and is great at explaining the complexities of creating music especially live improvised electronic music!

The Red Lady in the front row clearly isn't interested in Electronic Music at all.

Good show but it leaves me with a bunch of dots unconnected. Instrument anyone can play doesn't seem to be an instrument anyone can play. And the exemplification of music as conversation is just not there.

You can get great results from these instruments but having some kind of musical education or training can get you much better, melodic results. Otherwise it's often just noise..

what is music...a series of harmonic content......every sound in the universe has a harmonic content....just because it falls outside of your musical boundaries doesn't make any less valid than Mozart or katy perry....music is constantly evolving unlike the majority of peoples closed minds......

Yeah I think you are right in some point ... I didn' get the point of the video, that everyone can make music with this instrument. I was only concentrate about what I consider music by some reducer statement. Actually I think I listen to some music that others don't consider as music, I shouldn't have state what I said like this, if I could have the chance to restate I would say I didn't like the sound sample that he produced, but this instrument can be a good instrument to explore. Thanks for your reply :)

That was the point. His point is that everyone kind of thinks as music as a higher form, when it doesn't have to be. This is more of a "jam" than music. Tim says if music is like a language, then what most people think of as music is more like a novel, written down form of words that took a long time to craft perfectly. He says music doesn't have to be that way, it can also be like a conversation and less like a novel. So if "music" is a "novel" then what Tim just did was more like a "casual conversation" than a "novel".
